vivalanation734 Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Well, I've been looking around the net for a while and there aren't many (if any) reviews or comments on 2009 boxes of Habanos (other than REs or ELs). So, for those of you brave enough to purchase '09 boxes and smoke 'em, what have you found? Are they smoking as good as the 07/08s were smoking young? I'm specifically wondering about 09 Bolivars as well. thanks for the help!
shrink Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I haven't yet tried any of the '09 Bolivars, but bassman (who knows his Boli's) claims that the MAR09 Boli PC's are outstanding. I better grab some.

BolivarSmoker Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I've smoked only two 2009s. The first was a Mag 50 and it was pretty good. The second was an Edmundo and it was horrid.
anacostiakat Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I've smoked only two 2009s. The first was a Mag 50 and it was pretty good. The second was an Edmundo and it was horrid. Second the Mag 50s. Very good. I have smoked one JL#2 which was great also.
bassman Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Yes, MAR 09 Boli PCs are the best I've had since the 02s & that's a cigar I sample every year. Also MAR 09 RyJ Cazadores are going to be great in a year or two. Right now they are painfully strong even for me & I like strong cigar. The only other 09s I've smoked are the RA CF & SLR Pacifico. Like both very much, though I think the Pacifico tastes like a slightly stronger Serie A. As the only SLR RE, it's a collectable, but for value, the 08 Serie A is smoking very well.
jdbrown Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 I will second that on MAR 09 BPCs and 09 Cazadores. Both superb even now!
SnakeHips Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Haven't smoked any '09s yet besides a Romeo Cazadore. Ridiculously strong, but the flavor needs some time (and by that I mean it was right off the truck, a couple days after I got it). Ammoniac, and it lost its flavor halfway through.
aavkk Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I'm also on the Cazadore bandwagon, the MAR 09's are tasty. It sounds like I need to try some MAR 09 BPC's, I'm going to look out for a cab with that code.
reg Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I just got some monte 4s, MAR09. After a couple weeks of rejuvination i'll let you know
Stogeyfish Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 I've had the HdM Epi #2 and JL #2. While the JL #2's are good, the HdM's are smoking really well!
jeht Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Good info guys. I was wondering the exact same thing for the past couple of weeks!
Alberto_Magnus Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 The only 09 I smoked so far was an Elegantes Bolivar, RE Germany...and it was ready to smoke alright!! I left the rest to mature.
PartagasIV Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 ENE 09 Epi #2's have also been good to me as well...and this coming from not the biggest Hoyo fan. Pacificos were good but didn't 'wow' me, and I second the Bolivar Elegantes as being fantastic out of the box. Smoked three now and all have been excellent.
tigger Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 The only 09 I smoked so far was an Elegantes Bolivar, RE Germany...and it was ready to smoke alright!!I left the rest to mature. Me too. Although I have smoked a couple of them.
Jimmy2 Posted January 6, 2010 Posted January 6, 2010 Glad to see the Elegantes Bolivar are smoking well just could not bite to me they are to much $$ maybe down the line i will get a couple of singles to try...
