Bartolomeo Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Punch Serie D'Oro #1 EMA OCT 08 Well built, Colorado wrapper, chipped foot due to the boat ride over Initial puff was Sugary and spicy(pepper) Flavors included light Parika, Cane Sugar, leather, graham cracker, woodiness, mild coffee, Certain similarities to the Punch Super Robusto from the Asian release but not quite the same Ash is a grey, layered, flaky log Medium to Medium-Full profile the entire time Flavor just rests on the back of the throat, tickling it with the sweetness, very enjoyable Sort of reminded me of an sweet/spicy Asian dish Even burn, stayed lit whole time, all you could ask for from a pricy cigar Not the most complex I have ever tried but tasty to say the least, which is great for a larger gauge size Hint of youth in the last 1/3 but nothing a little sleep in the humi can't fix 9.2/10 with a potential of 93-94 years to come Bart
El Presidente Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Punch Serie D'Oro #1 EMA OCT 08Flavors included light Parika, Cane Sugar, leather, graham cracker, woodiness, mild coffee, Bart I think you have nailed the best flavour profile of "Punch" at its best. Reassuring to note that the blenders are staying close to the best features of "Punch". Always entertaining reading your reviews mate
android Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Thanks for the review Bart....I new these would be great and I'm glad I laid down the $$$ for multiple boxes.

chrisguinther Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 You really nailed this review. I got lots of sugar cane in this cigar and enjoyed it thoroughly. It is definitely an expensive cigar but well worth holding onto to see what happens in a few years. This is probably my favorite of the 08 RE's.
jdbrown Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 The Punch D'oro and RA Phoenicio are so true to their marca's. The best RE's IMO
bassman Posted January 9, 2010 Posted January 9, 2010 A good cigar now, but I think it will get even better with some age. Lots of potential.
