anacostiakat Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Cruel!. It is melting so until the Christmas Ice/rain we should be ok. Off until after New Year so just hunkering down and enjoying ourselves. Just ordered up a new HDef tv and blu-ray player so we will be getting that soon. Probably a nice lunch on Christmas eve. Home Christmas day spending it together. Watching the Christmas classics, parades, etc. Having lamb, twice baked taters, brussel sprouts and glazed carrots. A pumpkin pie and whipped cream for desert. It is the most wonderful time of the year. . .
Guibou Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Have a nice break Lisa, you deserve it! Personally we'll stay in cold Beijing with friends, eating, drinking, smoking
MIKA27 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 My wife, kids and myself will be attending a Christmas eve family gathering (My wifes side) as being Chilean, they celebrate Christmas eve and as such have a HUGE feast with all the bells and whistles to celebrate Christmas. As for Christmas day, I am looking forward to having a nice family day at home with just my wife and children, do some cooking, relax with a stogie and watch the kids play with their gifts. On 5th January, we're flying off to Chile for 5 weeks and staying with friends and family in Santiago, Val Paraiso and La Serena (At the beach) and return on 8th February.
Chaki Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Thank you Lisa! I am staying in Hong Kong but I will enjoy it all the same. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Have a nice break and Merry Christmas!

paesano Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 NOOOOOOOO, You can't take off! Who is going to take my procrastinated order and get it across enemy lines? You're the only one that has put up with my panic disorder and anxiety attacks. Hope you guys have a care free, safe holiday. Godspeed to you all. Have a great trip. I'll send you my order when you get back.
gfoster Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 My company just laid off half the employees (I was spared) and then gave the rest of us a paid 2 week shutdown until the 4th. I started off the vacation this morning with a bailey's and coffee and a morning smoke... I felt downright decadent. I intend on relaxing and enjoying my impromptu vacation. -- Gary F.
android Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Traditional Catholic....ETOH induced Christmas....New Years Eve in the Keys and January Birthday in NYC! I luv retirement!!!!!
El Presidente Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I have the extended family at my house Christmas Day which is always enjoyable. Hope to pop into Kens day after (boxing day) to enjoy some special cigars Guillaume left on his recent visit. Monday I take the family to New Zealand for 10 days on a farmstay with a 2 mile private trout stream. Lovely 4 bedroom cottage, 75 hectares of dairy farm, the kids can milk cows, ride the ATV's, fish, swim. Some sightseeing, and generally re-engaging with the family given it has been a hectic year all round. I haven't been with the family for 10 days away for 4 years so I am looking forward to it.....I think
mef Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 To the team at FOH and members ...... Have a safe and good Christmas All the best for 2010 Prez, I hope you and the family have a wonderful time in NZ....... Best wishes. mef
Mr. Japan Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Lisa I wish you BUON NATALE and of course Buon Natale to Prez and all the team of FOH including families and also cows to milk ;-)))) My holidays will be spent with family (that in Italy means, in my family case, 24 people around a table) starting eating on Christmas Eve sharp at 8 pm and finishing on Sunday 27th as it is my mom's birthday ;-) Again MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.
Stalebread Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Have a great holiday season, everyone. Wife and I are going to London between Christmas and New Years -- if the Eurostar is back up and running regularly. We have theater tickets and will probably do a "posh" afternoon tea somewhere. General shopping and just poking around.
PADDYWHACK121272 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 At home with the family and cannot wait....boy(3), girl (4months) and wife (eh, 21) haven't seen much of their ol' man lately due to the evils of work.... Happy and peaceful Christmas to all....
Ellery Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Christmas Eve go to my parents house for a nice sized gathering. Christmas day we will probably play video games (got my daughter Halo) and go visit family on my wifes side. New Years Eve and Day just spend at home enjoying with the family. I'd rather be on some beach like you Lisa, but unfortunately, all I can do is daydream.
Loki Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Rob,Lisa and the whole FOH team, I hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year. I got 12" of snow at my place this past weekend. I spent saturday night in the hot tub with heavy snow falling on my head ,it was great. Chistmas eve will be spent with my wife. We are going to have a couple of porter houses that I have been dry aging in the fridge for the past 10 days accompanied by baked taters and asparagus. Christmas day will be spent with assorted family and friends at my bro-inlaws. Loads of food libations and of course cigars. Merry Christmas to all
thechenman Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Lise...enjoy the well deserved vacation. Hope you come back nice and relaxed for another hectic year... Prez...enjoy the 10 consecutive days with the family...after which you will be ready to come back to Czar for a vacation. As for me...it looks like a quite X-Mas this year. My parents are spending the holiday in Shanghai, my brother and his wife are flying out to join them, before the head to Hong Kong for the New Year. My wife, son (Dylan-7yo), daughter (Ella-15mos) will be hosting her niece for X-Mas (her father is apparently in Guangzhou meeting the parents of his new fiance - What's the deal with China this holiday season?), picking her up tonight on the way home from work. Tomorrow is a short day with the stock market closing at 1pm, so will be enjoying a cigar and champagne early. House will smell divine as my wife always bakes on X-Mas eve, then off to mass (I'm the only non-Catholic in the family) at midnight. Presents X-Mas day for the kids followed by our traditional X-Mas breakfast of Belgian waffles, panckaes, bacon, sausage, eggs, bagels, oj and champagne. Dinner I believe is a bone in rib roast, whipped baked potatos, salad, crab dip, mixed vegetables, champagne and a big cabernet. Dessert will be the assorted backed goods my wife prepared on X-Mas Eve. The 26th...off to her parents to meet up with my in-laws, and another big meal. You can be sure that I will be indulging in cigars and wine and liquor during the holidays...but Lise...I'd rather be doing all of this on the beach rather than in NY. Enjoy the sun...I'll enjoy the cold.
PigFish Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Lisa, Rob, I love you guys... stay safe and enjoy Christmas. God bless you both and your families and friends. The well wishes go to all of my friends here at the forum. God bless you all with good fortune and endless rings of smoke! Rob, the kids would have more fun if you brought some guns along; I am just sayin'. -Ray
rudechuck Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays too all my new best friends! We'll be heading down south to my Aunt & Uncle's house in Temecula, CA for a huge family gathering of mostly Nicaraguan folks. Not sure what the fare will be. Last year it was smoked pork, gallo pinto (black beans and rice), and a few different salads and vegetarian (blech!) dishes. Not sure what to expect this year, but we're bringing the pecan pies.
