Hey, it could be worse... he could have been chased by this guy. (If Suh can translate his success to the NFL, I might actually watch it.) :2thumbs:

Lucky man indeed. It kinda looks like the bear shot him twice in the back, too.

Yes they do...he has just that many on the front of his torso as well! That's where "Da....Bear" was trying bite/flip him over! I have treated a few patients (3) back in the late 80's in the Alaska interior for similar wounds...very nasty my friend.

Wow... I'm surprised the guy survived. Someone must have intervened. Polar bears are always hungry it seems and extremely dangerous. He's lucky to be alive.

OMG! ;)

I concur with everyones comments thus far and will add that he is very lucky to be alive.

I watched a documentary on these amazing animals and it is so sad to see how desperate these bears are becomming for food with their natural environment diminishing. :buddies:

what a f##king dum ass, just dive under the pick-up truck, the bear would not be able to get to him there.

to bad about the bear, he was probably hungry

maybe he did get under the truck in the end - I presume his mate finally tired of taking pictures of his imminent death, and shot the bear or summat.

Chances are the bear could flip the truck anyhow.

Personally, I would have created a diversion with a conveniently packed peanut butter sandwich, sidestepped p. bear and then subdued him with a sleeper hold whilst he wasn't looking, whilst whispering 'shhhh shhhhh' in his ear.
