LuciusSulla Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I've heard so many great things about this place that I finally joined up. I am a humidor manager in central Texas, though my interests here are strictly for personal use. I will be the first to admit that though I am lucky enough to earn a living doing something that was originally a hobby, there is still plenty left for me to learn about cigars. I am also not a snob about tobacco (at least I try not to be). I can dig anything from a $2 bundle stick to a $30 flagship smoke so long as it does a good job for the purpose it was intended. Currently I am really digging stuff from Nicaragua and La Flor Dominicana. I am no stranger to Cuban sticks, but I don't get to smoke them as often as I like. I am very excited to hang out, learn a bit, and get to know some new folks.
Kangaroo495 Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Wow! Nice job! Welcome to the forum! I wonder - after a few months of sitting here on the forum, whether you'll still want to manage that humidor, which I'm sure is full of NCs! Cheers.
thechenman Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Welcome to FOH. Like Kanga mentioned...I envy you your job. Must be amazing! Even better to be able to smoke a cigar on the job. Hope you enjoy your time here. A plethora of knowledge and knowledgeable people can be found here. Good luck.
gfoster Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 I'd *love* to be able to smoke a stick while at work... I'm very jealous Welcome! -- Gary F.

There is a lot of NC stuff that I like as much as a lot of Cuban stuff. I enjoy how unique each country can be when you get to try the best examples of each. I just wish I could have a Cuban when I was in the mood for one :-) The experience is definitely a sad hole in any smokeshop's inventory in the States. And as far as my job, it is quite fun. I love introducing people to new stuff. It is really cool when you hit the nail on the head for someone and they return all smiles.
samb Posted December 12, 2009 Posted December 12, 2009 Welcome to the forum from another Texas member. There is a wealth of knowledge here. So... How central in Texas are you?

samb Posted December 13, 2009 Posted December 13, 2009 Austin area. Oh, I got ya, Im a bit farther north than you, lol.
LuciusSulla Posted February 5, 2011 Author Posted February 5, 2011 So, a bit more than a year later, I finally placed an order, haha. In the meantime, I also left my job as a humidor manager in Austin to start a Ph.D. at the University of Florida. Been a busy 12 months to say the least. On a serious note, I understand that the weather has been a little less than ideal in the Czar's neck of the woods. I hope everyone is OK.
Habanakane21 Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I'm glad you're hear too!!! Welcome to FOH....
