Date: august 2009, strenght: medium bodied 3\5. Appearance: wrapper thin, maduro coloured, good looking cigar with a little bit veiny. Construction: soft through all lenght, perfect. Aroma: coffee, spicy, leather Draw: excellent Smoke: very complex aroma and flavour with long pleasant aftertasting. All types of coffee aroma (ground grains, hot espresso). Slightly leather and zoo aroma, spicy (cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg). Chocolate and citrus, meat broth and dry fruits (plums, raisins). Steel colour ash kept ~ 2 cm (one inch), time of smoking ~ 70 min. ksblazer Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Nice review. Makes me want to get some. I've heard that these are one of the best EL's out there right now. Enjoy
cigarros Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 Thx mates! More picks you can find on my site here: http://cigarros.ru/tastings/82.html Assume that it's great release of EL 2009!
thechenman Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Thanks for the review. I too have heard that the Dukes are the best of the 2009 ELs.
Bartolomeo Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Thanks for the review! I had the EL's as: 1. Mag 48 2. Dukes 3. Boli Bart
bunburyist Posted December 8, 2009 Posted December 8, 2009 I like the Mag 48s, but the Dukes are great. Bit pricey mind, but hey. If only RyJ would adopt this into their regular line, they'd have: Churchill Duke Short Churchill Cazadores revamp the Belicoso and that has the line looking top drawer again. Ditch the rest in the line up.

josie67 Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I have a box as well, and DAMNED, they are the best EL's I have smoked in a few years (though I really liked the Monte Sublimes too).
acidmase Posted December 21, 2009 Posted December 21, 2009 I was waiting for someone to do a review on these! Thanks I finally feel good about buying a box
mash Posted December 28, 2009 Posted December 28, 2009 Thanks for the review. I've had 2 boxes sitting, guess it's time to crack one and see.

LiLo Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 The duke's are by far my favorite El this year. I feel as though they will age beautifully also. I can't wait for what 3 yrs time will do to these.
