LeafLover Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Hello all, New FOH member for about 72 hours now. From a little island somewhere in the 50 states. Little background: I've been smoking cigars for about 7 years now, last two years indulging in about a stogie a day. I believe I have enough experience with NC's. I've tried the whole lot of them from the bargain to the super premiums. At the end of the day, no matter what the cost or the legend of the cigar, I wholly believe that if it turns you on, that's what you will buy. Unfortunately, the flavor profile I've developed for the NC's carry a hefty price tag. I've tried a lot of them and continue to smoke a lot of them. I remember all the super premium NC's that were not so good. It's hard to forget them when you know you paid enough to feed 20 third world children for a month and in the end you are left with only a sinking feeling that you just perpetuated the hype of the cigar. Well, got intro'd to CC's a month ago when I was given the opport.unity to see my mentor's (I'm sure everyone has a cigar mentor) cabinet humidors. He has two in his living room full of the popular NC's and what a collection it is. Yes, it was enviable but the coup de gras was his refrigerator in his garage filled with CC's. Now that was spectacular. 2-5 years of aged boxes of CC's. So, to my happiness, he took a couple Monte Petite Edmundo tubos and said, "Let's smoke these." Unbelievable. Hook, Line and Sinker. I fell deep into an abyss of cigar fascination. So, here I am. Will be posting. Will be asking questions. Will be reading. Will be smoking. Of course, doing all with a little trepidation as privacy to me is key. Unfortunately, we are held at "Bay", pun intended, because of a little law passed 40 years ago that restricts the possession of certain Cuban properties from a man who bought boxes of CC prior to enacting them into law.
