Ken Gargett Posted November 28, 2009 Posted November 28, 2009 I'm just waiting for the corks to come completely through the capsules so I know they're at peak drinkability. best when they have leaked all over the labels.
Guest rob Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 Ive been putting 2 cases of every 389 vintage away for years and sampling one every now and then. The even numbered years of this decade have been stellar.
LeafLover Posted December 10, 2009 Posted December 10, 2009 I think it's a very good well priced red wine (assuming you have a red), (as is the cheaper Rawson's Retreat). Especially the Shiraz Cab. blends. I prefer the RR over the Koonunga Hill myself, but that's just a matter of taste. Both are excellent with BBQ & steaks, lots of fruity taste, enough tannins to make them interesting and a big body but still balanced and not as raw and unbalanced as some cheaper wines are. It also goes pretty well with a spicy cigar Let us know what you thought after you've tasted it. New to the forum and just saw your pic with woman holding cigar in the small of her back. That is nice.
brutusthebuckeye Posted January 8, 2010 Posted January 8, 2010 Just picked up a bottle of 389 from 2006...will be drinking it tonight with freinds.....
