Just caught this thread.

Nice collection, Bart. I might have to start a thread of my own soon.

But yeah, like others have said, those health warning stickers are horrible - I thought our Canadian ones were bad, but the Aussie ones on those Czar purchases are just profane! You know, I understand something of a warning, and these make absolute sense on cigarette packs and cartons. But, with fine cigars, they're collectibles and higher-end items, and the packaging is a part of it - to have these secondary stickers applied just ruins it.

Is there any way that we can get Czar purchases without these Australian stickers applied???

Hey Bart, I just noticed something after relooking through your thread again.

I don't mean to stir the pot here, but I have a question concerning the "Habanos S.A. - Hecho En Cuba - Totalmente a mano" branding.

I noticed that on some of these, there appears to be a fairly decent discrepancy in the font sizing/spacing. Is there multiple versions of this brand, and/or is there a series of the same, but obviously slightly different versions, of this same brand. I myself haven't come across the variety of slight deviations that I see from a few of these in the pictures of this thread. Again, don't mean to stir the pot. I had always thought that the boxes are made, more or less, in one or two central locations and then delivered to the respective factories for filling from there. So, I wouldn't have thought to see deviations like this. Or, are the individual boxes made/assembled/branded at each respective factory? It's one thing that I haven't really paid that much attention to when I've been to the island before.

Anyone know??

My only response would be.........."It's Cuba"

I have no clue to be honest :2thumbs:

"It's Cuba" is right, LOL. I just thought that maybe Trevor or Rob might know about those details about multiple brands, etc. I just haven't focused that much before, and looking through your thread made my eyes pick it up for whatever reason.

Kind of like the freak run of Partagas SDN4 bands with only 1 dot instead of the normal 3.

Cuba being Cuba.

But, it still would be neat if Trevor or Rob could find out if there's anything further to that. I won't be going again until November.

Was invited to a great cigar weekend party named "Skinfest" thrown by Stan aka Skindiver here on FOH. Stan is a class act and so was every other BOTL I met

Here is a pic of Stan and myself with some free smokes from Cigar Czar sent our way to enjoy ;)

This years' Skinfest was dedicated to the memory of Chuck Vaugn Lloyd, who never missed a chance to attend this annual event. It was great to have Bartolomeo attend and get to know him.

We drank a bit of Havana Club, enjoyed great cigars, and great friends and food.

Haven't seen any recent updates from you, Bart? No new cigar porn to share??:lol:

I wish :)

Going thru a Divorce and havent bought a box in 13 months, just fivers here and there when I can afford them

I will be back to my old habits soon enough but have my priorities right now on getting through this mess..........

Thanks

Bart
