How are the 2009 Partagas D4 smoking?

2 weeks ago Lisa sent over an ABR 09 box and i'm almost halfway through it already. Definitely a "hit" right out the box , being so young it's far better than the '04 and '06 boxes I finished up. A very, very pleasant surprise.

I'm curious as well if anyone has similar experiences.

How is the draw?? I am not a fan of them, mainly because of the never ending loose draws on them, which lead me to believe of loss of flavor.

Yeah I know what you mean, that almost describes my '04/'06 D4 boxes and an entire 08 RASS box that was just one loose draw after another, very frustrating

The draw is pretty good so far with this '09 box (smoked 12 so far), surprisingly consistent in construction/flavor/burn/draw for a box of habanos. The worst i've has was slightly tight but nothing that would effect the flavor. (RH at 65%)

I asked Lisa if Rob could find me a good box and he sure did ! a great box of D4's, med-full body and loads of flavor.

Interesting with the 09s being rolled out now. I'm wondering if '09 will be as good a year as '08. It seems the 09s are hitting the market much later than the 08s did. Maybe that is just me. If true though, I'm wondering if it has to do with an inventory glut of 08s?

I smoked one of these at a party, a gift cigar from a British vendor. The cigar was beautifully constructed and quite rewarding. It caused me to sit up and take notice. I believe the box was JUN '09. I don't remeber the factory code. -P

The 08's I tried were like a girl with big boobs you meet at a party but when you get her home, really it was all a Wonder Bra all along.......flat and boring would be correct

I wanted to like these as the size and price point were encouraging but didnt care for the 08's

Will have to try my luck with the 09's
