An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

Another Montecristo Double Edmundo. Stellar smoke. Rich chewy smoke. Not sure what people can not like about this cigar. Perfect construction with a mottled wrapper. Boy are they rolling some good cigars these days.

Totally agree!^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Guess I'm just another one of a few that seems to enjoy these.

Not the most full bodied of smokes but have liked the ones I've smoked so far. Guess there are either just good and bad boxes (Cuba!) or differing palates - or both....

08 Boki CG. Dark unsweetened chocolate, leather, smooth. Enjoyed it while sipping on Diet Mountain Dew and watching 47 Ronin.

Smoked the first PSD4 in quite some time, a '12. Almost forgot how much I love these. Gonna need to get more...

RyJ Cazzie with horrible burn. Now a RyJ Petit Churchill. Surprisingly, the latter was the better smoke.

My '13 Cazzies have been fantastic lately!

Over the last week or so...

Partagas 898 JUN 2013 - Amazing. Really smooth already. Marzipan and spice. Refined. (Anyone else always get marzipan in Partagas?) 92

Por Larranaga Montecarlo 2013 - Perfect. Bready, sweet, toasty and nutty. 94.

RASCC DIC 2013 - Gorgeous. Sweet. Raisiny, roasted and rich.91

Boli PC FEB 2014 - Good. Earthy and peppery. A bit spiky but will come round. 85 for now.

Viaje Full Moon - Atrocious. Smoked half of it and had a cigarette instead. Dont even smoke cigs very much. 40. Great construction at least.

Monte Sublime LE 2008 - smoking it right now. Booooring. Would swap it for the Monte PE I had a few months ago. 80

All I can deduce is that except for the Parti 898, data suggest I like cigars more the cheaper they are! Great news!

Happy smoking, T

Do you think it's because the pricier the cigar, you expect more out of it? Thus when it doesn't meet expectations, rendering a lower score? This is an honest question BTW.

I think that can definitely have an influence yeah. But, in my case at least, its probably only contributing a point or two of difference. When I assess a cigar I hope (and believe) Im judging the flavour and quality of the smoking experience rather than my more fundamental 'enjoyment' of my time smoking it.

FWIW though, who can really objectively analyse their own experiences? All judgement is inherently subjective. <Insert quote by famous philosopher to make me look clever here>.

How about you bro? Whats your experience? T

I haven't tried any of those cigars actually, but I agree that it'll always be subjective. I will say though that when I smoke an expensive stick and am not pleased, I do think to myself, "damn this stick wasn't worth it." So I definitely think it plays a role albeit minutely. In the end though, like you said, flavor and quality comes first.
