Rye
On that very same note, yes we do get some great regionals! VR petit Robaina with some mead braggot. This one was too good! I have to refresh my box very soon. Only 2 sticks left. Simply nub-tastic!! Anyone here that can fill me in on what exactly a "mead braggot" is? I'd love to know how this deliciously different brew is made.

Easy enough on that mate, ask the world! The Braggot is quite an old drink, there is a mentioned in Chaucer, Canterbury Tales in the late 1300s, and there are earlier references dating even further back to the 12th century in Ireland. Braggot is simply made by blending spices and herbs with mead and beer, to produce a strong concoction with uncommon flavors. Many taverns would make this blend right at the bar though brewers would also blend them as well. There should be a balance between the honey character and malt flavor with the hop bitterness not overpowering the sweetness yet should be noticeable. Todays Braggot may or may not be spiced.

While this brew did not taste spiced, I am grateful for that. It is an amazing drink and paired beautifully with my cigar once I had a chance to enjoy my labor-fruit. Thanks for the tidbit of knowledge!! This is something I will seek out!

Sounds like a straight beer/mead blend then. I'm gonna have to experiment with my home-brew versions of both! And try it with my daily smoke to stay on topic
