An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

Yesterday, 3 cigars, while out with a bunch at the FOH Toronto Meet Up:

  1. Trinidad Robustos T, Mar. 2010 "GLP" box, 90 score.
My first cigar of the evening while we Canadians (from the Toronto area, at least) were out at The Drake Hotel's rooftop patio in downtown Toronto. A great start to the evening - flawless construction, nice wrapper and cold aroma, solid 1/3-at-a-time ashes, great draw. Flavours of tea, florals, light toasted tobacco - nice. Ended with a bit of a harsh tone, though, due to the rain and still being a bit young.

  2. Cuaba Piramides EL 2008, Sept. 2008 "USE" box, 94 score.
HOT DAMN!!! Definitely a redeemer after my last experience with these a bit ago that left me disappointed. Beautiful on all counts. Raisins, dark chocolate, cloves, some fresh leather. Body and flavours just built up and kept me longing for it to last all night. Just an awesome cigar for "desert" after a great steak dinner.

  3. Bolivar Gold Medal, Jun. 2008 "LSM" box, 91 score.
My first of these, from a trade with a fellow FOH'er (thanks Frank!!!) Very nice long & skinny - not my normal format to go to. I was SO able to get a hit on that Bolivar profile that's talked about (my last Boli was from 2 years ago or so, and before that about 5 years - and that's about it). This cigar was a bold medium to medium-full (but not in a nicotine-heavy, overpowering way - just definitive flavours), with damp earth, old leather, a strong "mineral" profile (limestone, chalky, wet gravel - but not in a bad way at all), and even a hint of wet cedar burning in the background. Needed a few relights, but was extremely enjoyable. Have another from the same trade, and will definitely be looking at getting a box of these. A great end to an awesome night.
