investandprosper Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 Boli Corona Extra from Feb '07 50 cab, always a winner!
tdlfoto Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Just opened a cab of HDM Des Dieux which I brought back from Cuba last month. Had never had one previously, and bought them based on the vitola and mostly on the video review posted by the Czar crew. Indeed it was glorious!! Wow..the flavours kept evolving, tons of smoke, and the construction, wrapper, and burn were simply perfect.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Enjoyed a R&J Short Churchills tubo today. Windy again, and kept on being side-tracked. But, decent enough - 88.
dicko Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Por larranaga robusto 07 RE. hampered by bad construction (bits of twisted tobacco in there, too tightly rolled) :-( enhoyed some Swan Valley Verdelho with a couple of mates though, they enjoyed their cigars
KWG116 Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Beautiful morning in Nashville,TN. Out on the deck with a 05/09 RG petite corona. Pretty damm good. Glad I have another box on the way. This box seems to be well constructed. Have had issues in the past. Thank you Kwg116.
lemmycaution Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 Had an amazing PL Montecarlo from 08 that I got from a good friend. I could smoke these everyday...

Puros Y Vino Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Banner night tonight. I don't usually have 2 cigars on the same night. However, tonight was special. A good friend of mine came over whom we haven't seen in a while. So, after a nice dinner we head outside, which turned out to be very pleasant; weather wise. I had a Siglo II and a Secretos. He had an H Upmann Mag 46 and a Secretos as well. The Siglo II was magnificent. Nice burn and packed with so many different flavours. The Secretos? We both found them to be smooth, mild but pleasant. Not as many dimensions as the Genios but still enjoyable. We both labeled it as either a starter cigar or one to finish the evening with, which was appropriate. I do hope the rest of my Secretos offer up a bit more excitement. It did pair up nicely with the Scotch we chose, a 15 YO Glenlivet.
dicko Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 PLPC. good not great. rich tobacco and very full bodied, no balancing sweetness
Leopolis Semper Fidelis Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Don't know the name or year, but a wonderful RA Belgian RE. Looked like a long robusto. Excellent medium bodied flavor. That appears to have been a Gran Robusto, released in 2007 or 2008 as a Benelux RE.
bassman Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 ABR 08 Esplendido. Testing the box. Lots of potential, but needs more time. 02 SLR PC. Very tasty.
CanuckSARTech Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Yesterday - CoRo, Aug 2008 "EST" box. Ehhhh. So-so. I gave it an 89, but it could have been much better. The flavours were all still there, but there was almost a youthful harshness to it, even though this box is just over 2 years old. This box may need to be left alone for another year and then re-tried. Today - R&J Coronitas en Cedro, Nov 2007 "URO" box. Damn good, considering the price - an 87 for a $4 smoke. Canned cherries (cherry pie filling?), with new fresh leather, and some slight molasses tones. Aging well - should be damn great in another two years (based on my thoughts of how these are progressing), especially considering the per stick value. So...4 cigars in the past 4 days. Nice. A very enjoyable return after more than a month away from my cigars due to being mildly sick (sore throat, sinus cold, throat infection). Gawd - it's easy to miss this. I'm not looking forward to winter....
investandprosper Posted October 11, 2010 Posted October 11, 2010 Smoking a divine Cohiba Siglo VI from May 2006. Delightfully complex, all of the flavors I love in a Cohiba. An easy 95.
Mr.T Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Enjoyed a lovely RA Belicoso 05 the other night....five years on and these remain a delightful smoke.....
JasonInChiTown Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Diplo No. 5 Tons of cherry and floral notes.
ChanceSchmerr Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Smoked a Monte 2 today I got from a friend a few months back. It had some issues in transit and arrived somewhat dried out and cracked. Other cigars from the package still smoked fine....... but not this one. Hints of cocoa and a whisper of chocolate, otherwise it was characterised by an awful Nail Polish taste that ruined the experience. Tossed it out 1/2 way through. I've tried two Monte 2s in my life and both were very underwhelming. One of these days I'll see what all the fuss is about them. Not today though!

Stalebread Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 Yesterday: Partagas SdC #3, '02 One of the best cigars I've had in a long time. Rich. Balanced. Rich. Perfect burn & draw. Rich.
bassman Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 97 RyJ Celestial Finos. One of the best RyJs made- so of course it was discontinued.
MIKA27 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 The weather here in Melbourne is absolutely dismal, cold, windy, not very good for one who smokes outside.... BUT last night I had a Trinidad Reyes, absolutely perfect little cigar accompanied with a short black coffee.
