Hiroshiro Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 The Slendy was very good! Lots of flavour for such a small roll. The SLR was very muted at first. The last half was far better. Draw was a bit firm but very tasty. I love mag 50s how was the 09?

Draw was a bit firm but very tasty. Slendy - Awesome!!! It's not just me that thinks so I think that size is probably the one cigar where you KNOW the wrapper leaf plays a huge part in the flavour profile. SLR - Dammit, sorry to hear the first half sucked. I'll make it up to you next time we meet. I think I have a different marca Lonsdale that will satisfy better

ramon_cojones Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 I've got a 98 slr lonsdale just chillin I need to spark up one of these days. Fantastic smoke.
BonVivant Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Great Cigar! Hats off to the greatest new release from HSA in 2013
Armaniac Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 First PL Montecarlo ever. Surprisingly good smoke.
fabes Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Having a 07 RASS which is great. I've had some fresh ones, but this is quite enjoyable!
Lotusguy Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 First a ghastly Los Statos Deluxe from 1998 that I pitched after 1.5 inches. Then a nice Partagas Petit Robusto from the Travel Retail Selecion. Very toothy wrapper on that one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Othello Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Very nice Small Robusto. Flavor very reminiscent of the Encantos. Went well with my morning coffee.
sw15825 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 My first ever mag 50. Enjoyed. Few rough spots.
ramon_cojones Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 du gourmet that wasn't plugged, was alright followed by a plmc
El Presidente Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 du gourmet that wasn't plugged, was alright followed by a plmc du gourmet that wasn't plugged, was alright RC, you smoke more gourmet than I do. "as a general rule" what period of time do you lay them down from box date?
GlobalNomad Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Had an HdM Epi 2 (AME JUL12) during the holidays which was incredible so just got another box (MGR ABR13). Smoked the first one today ... unfortunately this one was not as good so back in the humi for a few months.
ramon_cojones Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 RC, you smoke more gourmet than I do. "as a general rule" what period of time do you lay them down from box date? Rob, this is only my first box. A buddy of mine gave me one last year that was so flavorful I swore it had at least 5-6 years of age but turned out it was only 2 years old if that. When I bought my box dated sometime in 2011, they didn't taste like his but I'm determined not to give up LOL!!! Have only had 4 or 5 out of the box and I feel like these are not rolled properly as I'm not getting good draw and smoke volume sadly. I will keep smoking through this box periodically and once they hit stride more so, but it's the worst constructed box I have and just not as enjoyable as I hoped. A buddy swears by deputes too and another loves the whole french series.
Puros Y Vino Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Nice lineup. How was the fundy? Which was the best of the bunch? The Fundy was excellent. Very smooth, sweet, savoury. The best? Probably the RyJ Fabulosos No 1. The Mag 50 I smoked was interesting. The last half smoke like a La Escepcion. Very stealthy power buildup, lots of tangy, rich tobacco flavour as well. I haven't touched my Mag 50's for at least 18 months. It surprised me. On the downside. The Super Ramon smoked a bit "sick". I smoked a few in the summer that were flavour bombs. Maybe I got a dud or these need to sleep for a bit.
Bartolomeo Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 Habanos Sublime custom in Ybor city before heading to Miami
canadianbeaver Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 First time I have ever owned a whole box, first one out of said box. Delighted.
ramon_cojones Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 thought that pic was going to be a prelude to a thrown in the fire pic
