An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

Last night whilst out at a friends, I attempted to enjoy a Partagas Serie D Especial single I purchased. It started of spicy with strong toasty tobacco flavors however 10 minutes into smoking, it started to develop an ammonia taste which did not dissipate but rather increased.

I ended up discarding the stick midway through. Quite unfortunate.

Shortly thereafter, I fired up a Partagas Series D5 LE 2008 which was as usual magnificent. Slight spice, tobacco and loads of thick creamy chocolatey smoke. The flavors kept alternating between spice, chocolate, toast and roasted nuts, quite remarkable.

Friday started off with the best monte #2 I have ever had, from an HQ box MOA OCT09. All the great monte flavors only amplified; cedar, cream and woody. Perfect draw, just fantastic and each puff got better, just kept saying wow. This is my third from the box and each is getting better, I wanted to lay these down, not gonna happen. Paired it with Kwak, one of my favorite belgium beers.

Then a fabulous Unicos, USE Jan 09, perfect draw and tons of smoke. Love the different flavor profile between the monte 2, there is plenty of room for both of these in my rotation, thought these were my favorite piramide, but with this box of monte 2s its a toss up. Paired with Dupont Saison, another great belgium beer.

Today I have time to enjoy a Lusi TEB MAY 08, I'm 1.5 hours in and just taking it slow, again a perfect draw, amazing flavors and smoothness. Wish I had more days to enjoy double coronas, when I can take my time, these are it for me. Only problem is that I'm running out of TEB 08s... My wife made me a great cappuccino to pair it with. What a way to spend a saturday afternoon. Got to go find more beer soon ;)

I've been eyeing a Lindemans black currant lambic in the back of the fridge for dessert. If you like lambics, give this one a try.

It's been a long time since I've had 3 cigars in a row of this quality.

I am so excited about the 09 quality of smokes I have had, and I can't thank Czar enough for the quality and service they give, love the HQ program and the special attention. Rob and crew; your work and passion is so appreciated.

Hello Gentlemen,

After all of the wonderful reviews on the Dip 4, I had to buy a box. Yesterday morning after breakfast, I finally lit one up. It was just wonderful! :( The aroma from the box was of sweet spice and tobacco, and the cigar smoked just the same. There were very few variations from start to finish, but the flavor was rich and intoxicating. I was still tasting it when I went to bed last night! The little cigar produced tons of rich smoke and had a straight and even burn.

Overall, it was simply a wonderfully enjoyable experience.

Thank you,

Curtiss

Last night a 08 Party Sal - mix between a partagas short and another marca, just can't put my finger on it. 88

Today a Dip5 while on a rainy hike with the dog. 89 - shame they are gone.

Now, 08 Mag46. Already in the 90's. I could live on these.

This weekend:

a Partagas Lusitania (MAS JUN 08) - An absolutely fantastic cigar. Easily my favorite DC right now.

a Montecristo No. 2 (MOA NOV 09) - A great smoke, but I've had others that were a notch or two better in terms of flavor.

Saturday Night: Siglo II. Excellent once it passed the 1/3. Hints of vanilla.

Sunday Night: Johnny O Ninja Dart. Strong ammonia at the start, but soon mellowed into a stellar cigar. Caramel, toasted tobacco, very rich. Waves of licorice at the halfway point. The aroma off the burning wrapper reminded me of a CoRo I had last week. This beast lasted two hours!
