bassman Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 After a couple days off all smokes I came back with a couple tasty mild cigars- 01 ERDM Gran Corona and 03 Sancho Panza Corona Gigante. Both of these sadly discontinued.

dicko Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Fonseca no 1. found myself going, "this is wonderful!" some puffs, and then "this is pretty damn average" others...cuban cigars hey?!
samb Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Diplo 5 at work today. Blah, Im just not feeling the Diplo lately.
groza Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Montecristo Petit Edmundo ... what a cigar. Strength, coffee beans, earth and a nice nicotine buzz.
CanuckSARTech Posted August 16, 2010 Posted August 16, 2010 Soon about to go out on the back deck for a Cohiba Robusto, cracking open an as-of-yet-untested box (AGT 08, "EST").
Mr.T Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 The wife and daughter were out of town so it was a great opporutnity to catch up on some good smokes. 1. Bolivar Simeone (RE, Canada) - for a small cigar this packed a lot of flavors and strength. The cigar had a great burn and draw. Construction a little bit off due to a tear in the wrapper under the RE band. The cigar started with good notes of pepper and progressed to a harmonious interplay of flavors including leather/wood, cocoa, nuts, coffee and spice. 2. SLR DC - NOV 05 - great construction, burn and draw on this one. The cigar stayed medium bodied throughout. I tasted notes of milk chocloate, coffee, cocao, honey and dried fruit....a very good cigar. 3. HDM DC -07 - great construction, burn and draw. paired up nicely with the latte. Smell at cold was of dry hay. There were hints of sweet spice on the tongue throughout the cigar as well as coffee and leather. A great morning cigar..... 4. Bolivar Corona Gigante - June 03 - I'm so glad I have a box of these..they are delicous. Great burn, draw and construction (all of them in the box for that matter). A nice dark wrapper on this one with a touch of pepper and salt on the tongue and the usual bolivar earthy flavors and coffee throughout and from the mid point on a wonderful sweet cake/dougnut mix with exotic spice....really good.
bassman Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I also salted away a couple boxes of 03 BCGs- such a good cigar. Today a 96 Partagas Selecion Privada- a real treat. Started mild & continued through medium. The last third was quite powerful. Thank you, my NZ friend!
CanuckSARTech Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Partagas Serie D No. 4, so tasty. Same here, in the Live Review. Quite nice.
dicko Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 unbanded corona gorda, little dried apricot, woody and and bit of peppery cream. suspect it was a SLR A thrown in with some banded ones i bought, cant be sure. also a R & J petit corona, cherry and cedar, love these. last from a mates box
bassman Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 08 Siglo I. Surprisingly strong cigar. Very nice!
mm12 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Just had an ABR 09 Siglo III, my first out of the box. Was REALLY impressed. Started off with a nice mocha/cream flavor. About halfway through the first third, the coffee aspect went away, and I was left with a rich chocolate pudding flavor. The second third had flavors of honey with some herbs and charred wood. Final third was a really distinct/sharp/clean mint flavor. Amazing complexity for such a young smoke. I rate it a 93 with 95+ potential.
Bartolomeo Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 98 RyJ Prince of Wales........not a RyJ fan but this was very enjoyable Thanks Leo Bart
PigFish Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I was deleted from the Epi 1 review by an angry white guy with a funky accent so I thought I would post here! Great little cigar (Hoyo Petit Robusto), strong side of medium body, lightly unctuous and picking up steam. This is an '06 sample out of a cardboard box. Cheers, Piggy

You and me both, Piggy (actually, I deleted myself, but the "nudge" was made. LOL.) Enjoyed an HDM Epicure No. 2 tonight, to try to feel the mood of the HDM marca with the "live review" of the Epi 1. Will post my review of my Epi 2 tomorrow.

Cheers, Piggy Yeah Ray, I like this little stubby. Surprised it doesn't get more attention. "unctuous"
PigFish Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Yeah Ray, I like this little stubby. Surprised it doesn't get more attention. "unctuous" While I don't typically smoke 50 ring cigars I have to admit to loving these. While short, I like short cigars, these are still good for 30 minutes plus if they are rolled right. I bought my first box of these when they were intro'd, on a lark ('04?), I don't remember now. I have loved them ever since. -Piggy
Habanakane21 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 man...just got my Box of PSP RASS. Looking so fine in her box. I just had to smoke one. These are premier without a doubt. Thanks Rob. Dark oily wrappers. The aroma just brings you in. Chocolate chocolate 80% cacao!!!
bolivr Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Partagas Topper. Layers of flavour and I am sure in the warmth and humidity of Thailand all of the cigars I brought along have been much more enjoyable than I remember them in Melbourne. Will do a fuller report in the 'cigar friendly location' section later
Mr.T Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Enjoyed a HdM Pyramide EL last night (2nd run). Excellent burn, construction and draw. The whole lot in the box have been well constructed. The ash wouldn't fall....kept going and going...picked up a little pepper, faint hints of spice and coffee and lovely sweetness that likened to graham cracker...very nice.
Bartolomeo Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 97 RyJ Celeste Finos........chewy leather with some sweet paprika and a hint of orange peel Bart
