Nino Posted September 6, 2013 Posted September 6, 2013 Just back from a long "memory lane" cigar night dinner at the Mainz Hyatt Regency - last cigar event we held there was 2008 .... Mixed feelings ( will expand on my blog ) and great cigars. Bolivar Belicosos Finos GUT OCT 2012 midway ( they were ... gut = good :-) ) and finished off with a divine Cohiba Gran Reserva.
Habano Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Cohiba Double Corona. Picked up a couple boxes of these this week. Checking to see how these are doing.
Orion21 Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 A tasty MGE. Too bad I struggling to keep it lit . . . The beer isn't bad either

TheFullMontecristo Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 VR Famosos and a glass of Zacapa.
jacktarnold Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Vegueros Espesciales No. 2 SEP01. Great evening and change of pace.
Ghabanos Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 First stick: blind tasting number 4 , which started out like crap tastes like paper. Wanted to toss it out so bad. But in the name of science I persisted. If finished off so much better. Like ok crap. I hated it needless to say. Then I followed up with this baby. Lgc mdo4 fricked breath of fresh air. Pure sweet tobacco. Hints of chocolate. Sweetness all over. Just from first 3 cm. lets see where this goes. Will definitely be getting a few more boxes. Mdo 2 and 4. Need to save these. The direction these are going may not see them in a few years... Right?
fokker4me Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Just had a CAO concert paired with lightly sweetened coffee on the deck. A very pleasant mild to medium bodied smoke with a lot of woody leathery notes. I will post a review and photos as this is the first CAO I have ever truely enjoyed.
Philprop Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 Enjoying a Tatuaje Cojonu 2003 and a coffee on the back deck. Very tasty and typical to most Tats I've had, medium to full bodied. Quite a bit of smoke that gives off a very pleasant aroma that is not too Strong on the nose. Paired excellently with my coffee which is a first for me. Usually when I have had coffee with my smoke I either cannot enjoy the smoke or the coffee so I usually ditch the coffee for a beer or some water.
Bahnofstrasse Posted September 7, 2013 Posted September 7, 2013 13 Punch EL Off to a good start. Much more flavor than the HdM Grand Epicure. Lets see where it goes... Update: Disappointing. Was under filled and burned fast and hot. 55 minutes smoke time and I was not rushing it. It did have some medium bodied tobacco, earth, woodsy, flavors with a lot of smoke, but not worth 20chf per marca for what I got. I'd much rather spend 22chf on a 520 then spend 22 & 20 on the 2 current 2013 EL's. Still can get the 2011 RA Extra at 12chf. Pasadena for me!
Habana Mike Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 02 erdm corona deluxe Me too! Very nice smoke with my coffee this morning. Cafe au lait wrapper, flavor and a great draw/burn.
Bahnofstrasse Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 RSE EAOO 8/99 HdM du Dauphin Delicious! Very elegant, medium bodied smoke. Baked bread, nutty, quite aromatic. Also has room to grow. Love the vintage smaller ring gauge Marcas!

Optic101 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Arturo Fuente Hemingway Short Story. A nice smoke as a second dessert last night.
sengjc Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 Arturo Fuente Double Chateau Sungrown. Having some dark ale with it. Nice decent smoke but does not appear to possess the sweetness of the Royal Salute vitola nor the intensity of the 8-5-8. A gentler, milder profile that is perhaps overpowered by the ale.

CaptainQuintero Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 2009 illusione cg:4 natural, wonderfully rich and smooth. Creamy coffee and soft cashew, long oily chocolate aftertaste
Andrew11 Posted September 8, 2013 Posted September 8, 2013 LP UF13 Good smoke, not very complex but nice. Dark expresso and some cocoa powder. Cocoa disappearing in the final 3rd and a nice strength pickup, very relaxing smoke.
