tugboat Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Romeo y Julieta Belicosos: medium with lots of creamy smoke. Weird though...was very hard to keep lit and once it started tracking the taste went downhill hard. Wondering if the cause was from smoking more of the wrapper than the blend. Such a big difference in the taste. Like nothing I've smoked before. Once I fixed it up and relit it went back to a very enjoyable cigar. Cohiba Robustos: Same as the last Robustos I smoked. Still needs time but this was the worst Cohiba I've ever smoked. Disappointing. Got to remember to leave those alone for awhile.
bassman Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Two nice cigars- old & new. 97 SLR Serie A and 08 Lusi.
Ginseng Posted November 21, 2009 Posted November 21, 2009 Quintero Brevas. RA Celfinos. This time it was a strong one. Wilkey
Tampa1257 Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Smoked a RA Celestiales Finos at the range today, and that was one strong sucker, I believe that 5 years might just be the beginning of when they will come around. I've had them in the humidor for 45 days now and it was stronger than a very youthful RyJ Cazadore.
mbrody Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 Fabulous Party Connie #3 If I could rate a cigar solely on aroma at cold, a CGR i just inspected would be a 100.
Bartolomeo Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 VR Petit Robaina RE Canada......9.1/10....small sucker but lots of flavor in short smoke Cohiba Esplendido....9.25/10......Went againt every bad review I have ever read about them.......complex and flavorful, delish! Bart
dicko Posted November 22, 2009 Posted November 22, 2009 monte petit edmundo (tubos). a bit of chat on these boards about these lately, had one fall apart on me last time but todays was monte coffee/cream, medium tobacco, pepper. can't work out if i like this size format or not... It was very good and as a general comment- aren't cigars just the best form of relaxation?
El Presidente Posted November 23, 2009 Author Posted November 23, 2009 as a general comment- aren't cigars just the best form of relaxation? Spot on Dicko Ken and I had a Montecristo Especial yesterday. Sheer 90 minutes of Bliss.
Peacock Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 While waiting for my son's hockey game to start, I combusted a Trinidad Robusto Extra. I like these fresh, no aging required. I love this cigar. Smooth, gentle, easy draw, good burn, ahhhhh. Son scored a goal and won the game! This morning with a cup of Starbucks (again waiting in the parking lot for my son's hockey game to start), I tried a R&J short Churchill. Interesting, but probably needs a few more months. My son scored two goals and won this game too.
dball Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Reached into the special humidor and grabbed me a 70's RyJ Corona. Oh hell, this is tasty.
thechenman Posted November 23, 2009 Posted November 23, 2009 Last night I smoked a Fonesac Cosacos last night. A nice mild cigar...just what I needed after attending a Pepin dinner on Saturday night with three cigars smoked in a room that was entirely too smokey. Have to say...I actually felt sick at the end of the eveing. 1
Tampa1257 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Rained all day here, so while I was out driving running errands, I smoked a 07 Monte No.5 I love these cigars when you only have a short amount of time.
Kangaroo495 Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Punch RS12. Not as good as the RS11. Same flavour profile, but didn't get the honey which I got from the 11. Does anyone else think that Punch is the closest marca to Cohiba in terms of taste? Got a lot of grass, cream and smoothness...
thechenman Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 Last night I smoked a Diplomaticos No. 4 (08) after having read all the positive commentary on these sticks over the previous week or two. I have to say that I haven't smoked a ton of Diplos relative to the number of Montecristos I've sparked, but for me the Montecristo No. 4 still beats the Diplomaticos No. 4 - hands down. While the Diplo wasn't bad, it just was not as flavorful, complex or creamy as the Monte.
Bahnofstrasse Posted November 24, 2009 Posted November 24, 2009 08 BPC...simply delicious! slowly enjoyed over 60 minutes to the nub.
Evo03 Posted November 26, 2009 Posted November 26, 2009 Lately I've had a good run of cigars, without a dud. Standouts include June 07 RASS and HdM Petit Robusto, Jan 07 Trinidad Reyes, May 07 Upmann Coronas Major, and an 06 Bolivar Coronas Extra.
