LeafLover Posted August 3, 2010 Posted August 3, 2010 Lit up a Boli PC half an hour before I signed on to FOH. Lo and behold, the topic to vote for the king of PC's.
samb Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Last night was the last of a coffin of Parti culebras, with a glass of the Goatfather. This is a cigar that has just a pure explosion of Cuban flavors! Pure bliss til the wife woke up to start bitching....

This is a cigar that has just a pure explosion of Cuban flavors! Pure bliss til the wife woke up to start bitching.... Are there any versions of these culebras that are hand-made at all, or are they all still just a machine-made bundle?? I can't remember off-hand.

My friends who normally don't smoke think these are the coolest cigar.
Habanakane21 Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Started today off with a Diplo No.4. I better slow down on these since there are discontinued
cgarner Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 Had a fantastic upmann Mag 50. I absolutely love this cigar. Must pick up a cab.
CanuckSARTech Posted August 4, 2010 Posted August 4, 2010 The Parti culebra is now hand made.CubanCigarWebsite Perfect, thanks Samb. I couldn't remember the date exactly, with all the back and forth with those between hand- or machine-made. So, circa 2007 boxes then, with that different packaging. I will have to look out for those. Thanks for the link.
MasterOfEvil Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I was able to snag some Padron 45th Family Reserves at the cigar shop, I cannot imagine it will be too long before they disappear from the humidor.

olotti Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Had a fantastic upmann Mag 50. I absolutely love this cigar. Must pick up a cab. Agreed, one of my favorite cigars right now. Love the flavor profile and they are always satisfying. I'd smoke one a day if I had that many or the money to buy enough.
olotti Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 I tell ya what's great right now is Zacapa 23yr old and a Dip #4, that sugary sweetness is really hitting the cigar. I swear I tasted a caramely sweet almost creme' brule flavor. Sorry I have no idea how that is spelled, but the combo is great. A little sugar and spice, the cigar is awesome and it's basically ROTT and def med-full right now. Yummmm

mbrody Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 A special day deserves nothing but the best...why a Mag 46 of course! Great, as usual...
olotti Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 A special day deserves nothing but the best...why a Mag 46 of course! Great, as usual... Great choice. The last couple yrs have yielded gems, have a box of 08's I have buried but they call to me all the time.
Charltonc Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Opus X Robusto *shrug*update: yikes, it was horrible (overwhelming white pepper thru the nose, building burnt rubber on the palate). 1/4 way through I ditched it, went to grab something, saw a Quintero and laughed to myself thinking "even that has to be better that the Opus", and sure enough it was. Granted, not "good" per se, but better. Opus X need age on them, besides the petit lancero. THe white pepper flavor is diluted and the cigar has a softer finish, still no where near a good aged cuban.
Habanakane21 Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Today...Diplo 4, then Epi 2, then for my 3 hours FoH marathon I smoked a PSD4.
CanuckSARTech Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Last night - Monte # 4, November 2007 "BLP" box. Delicious.
PointSource Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Smoked an incredible 1993 Partagas Charlotte. Best Partagas I've ever had....
MontrealRon Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 1997 Flor de Cano Selecto I've smoked many from a '98 box purchased a couple of years ago, and they have ben consistantly mild-medium, very tasty, and quite delicately aromatic. This was my third from a recently purchased '97 box. Both boxes are hand-finished machine-mades, i.e. no cello. These are considerably stronger, a good medium+. Very tasty, excellent draw and burn. No wimpy cigar, this. I have one example of a '76 Selecto in cello, gifted by a very generous BOTL. I hope to do a full review of that one, perhaps with photos.
thechenman Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 Recently returned from a vacation where I went home to Southern California. Brought the kids to visit with my parents and brother. Enjoyed some nice CCs. Partagas Serie P No. 2 Tubo Cohiba Siglo V Tubo Partagas Serie D. No. 4 Saint Luis Rey Double Corona Por Larranaga Robusto 2007 RE Asia Pacifico Trinidad Colonial Romeo y Julieta Duke 2009 EL There were a few NCs mixed in there as well.
bassman Posted August 5, 2010 Posted August 5, 2010 98 RyJ Prince of Wales. What a sweet tasting cigar. Far better than any RyJ Churchill I ever had. Wish I had more of these.
