Holy God these need more time down! I recall how I didn’t like RG Coronas Extras fresh but with 4-5 years of age, they became wonderful and now-superb. Might be same case here. Just out of balance, but the smell and flavor is most def there. I proceed with hopes and dreams - see you in 2027 RG Coronas De Lonsdales 🫡(who made up this name anyway?).

Restaurant? Will check out if we make it back there. I think Split is closer to Hvar and we’ve moved on to Dubrovnik already.

I too feel the same way about giving this new release some time down. And I concur about the name, as it can be confusing. For modern cigar enthusiasts, the term, "Lonsdales" is a reference to a vitola, whereas in the case of the Rafael Gonzalez marca, "Lonsdale" refers to its origin in the late 1920s/early1930s. According to Habanos S.A.'s website, "this brand name which has the factory name of Cervantes, was first called Lonsdale after Lord Lonsdale".

So, the brand started pre-Revolution and is associated with the Englishman, Lord Lonsdale, which further explains why boxes have and continue to have the inscription to smoke the brand's cigars within one month our after twelve months of rest. The Rafael Gonzalez Coronas de Lonsdales is a re-boot of a discontinued cigar from the 1970s; namely, the Coronas Lonsdales.

Punch Mantua - I’ll be posting in the 94+ cigar thread if it keeps going as it started. Beautiful funky leather and slight orange flavor. Wispy oily smoke sticks to the palate. Perfect construction. Damn!

Day 2 shenanigans. RASS. PSD5. SCP. Watching March Madness at the cigar lounge. That PSD5 was singing to me to be so young! It took the cake! The Principes are coming into their own as well.
