MAT
Good health and happiness on your birthday ...
Popular Post BeerPimp
It was a beautiful late summer night. So I went to my friends house and had some smoked ribs then smoked a cigar. Double smoke night.😀 Hadn't had a Par Larranaga Montecarlo in a long time. This one was absolutely amazing. As usual had some bourbon with it. Never mind the writing on the glass.😆 Really liking how my shiny red 3d printed cigar holder turned out.
Popular Post Fugu
RG Perlas (TGA NOV 12). Deserving of a mini review: Has morphed into what’s become easily one of the finest cigars in my collection. Full-flavoured from the get go, fragrant and aromatic. Mediterranean herbs and spices (think wild majoram, thyme, sage – potpourri of aromas), but so nicely integrated that it’s difficult to dissect. And you don’t want to. Body initially staying mild-medium to slightly under medium. Tis not an in-your-face stick. With progressing, you get clove, Irish moss and a hint of marzipan with rose water coming into play, also caramel, touch of ginger, overlaying the core flavour profile (herbal-spicy). Then, freshly fallen chestnut leaves spring to mind. Steadily gaining in intensity. Further deepening with mocha and hazelnut notes towards the end. A blissful hour to the very nub. The 2012 release is without a doubt a unique cigar. Note added for those interested, for that’s a constant matter of ‘storage’ debate: Cigars are being kept in their original petacas with the 25ct-cubes in Ziploc (a decade and counting) like I do with all cardboard packaging (either that or wrapped). No detrimental effects, no smell or taste of cardboard, no mustiness, no detectable loss of flavours. Quite the opposite. Cigars smell of tobacco with that ever so slight clove-vanilla note that has been so characteristic of the petacas right from the beginning. 25

Popular Post SigmundChurchill
To be completely honest, I was never crazy about these. I haven't smoked one in years. But today I opened a box that has been sitting in my humidor for 5 years, and it was excellent. I guess they just needed more time than I was giving them. I have several boxes of Trinidad and all were pretty meh to me when they were young. Now at the 4 year mark, they all are great except the Topes. They are good, but haven't transitioned like the rest.
Popular Post Greenhorn2
Today's smokes consisted of the Hoyo DC UPO NOV 2020 and the Siglo 2 MAR NOV 2020. The poor Hoyo didn't stand a chance. I carried it out on the beach and the wind was just too much. It was a creamy, woody smoke, but the burn was all over the place. The last third had one of those cigarette loads in it that explode when the fire hits it. The wrapper dried out and POP, that was the end of it. The Siglo 2 was bliss, hands down the winner of the day. Today hasn't been a good smoke day with the monsoon rain. Managed to get the mantua in this morning with a cup of coffee., thanks @Chibearsv! This was the best I've smoked from the Punch line. The second third had me worried as the cigar didn't want to burn due to the weather. After pulling the old @PigFish squish and roll, it finished up like a champ. Caught a break in the weather, so I grabbed a GEL DIC 2020 Esplindidos while the getting was good. This is the first one out of the box that I was contemplating selling. These will definitely get torched. This cigar is definitely top cigar of September(so far) and maybe the year. (I have a Lanceros I want to try tomorrow) 97-98 pointer.

Topes aren't great young or old. But the Trova's just never did it for me, until now.
