Popular Post Cigarsmoker81
Sobremesa brûlée blue is good but I don’t get the hype. Davidoff double R was great and rio seco was fantastic.

Popular Post RDB
This was great. La Punta from 2017. Remember that period of SCDLH? For years these were bitter and too strong. Now they are incredibly rich and sweet. Not the most complex, but wow what a profile.

Popular Post zeedubbya
Had to post this one. Is there a better small format cigar? While I do recall the HUHC being great fresh (also an FOH and Lounge Lizards @LizardGizmo favorite), the years have made it sublime. Got home and flipped over box and code is SUB ABR 2011, I believe these are first release of HUHC - def Upmann factory I am sure @Fugu 😉. Sort of forgot about these in humidor, snatched the ugliest one for golf. Made me forget the round and focus on the little “mini-Winnie”… superb. I doubt these will make it to see much more age.
Popular Post Redgoldband
PSD5 ENE ’24. Compliments of our gracious host. First time having a D5, 3 months down. Great aromatic retro-hale. Good combustion and burn line. Good draw. Good smoke output. Compared to the other Partgas in the alphabet series, the flavors were more subdued and I didn’t pick up anything discernible until the end of 2/3 and 3/3. Up ’til that point, it was just straight good Cuban tobacco twang. Some sourdough poked around, and the cigar showed itself to be a cousin to the D4 and in fact, the cigar I’ll likely go to when I want a D4 profile but don’t want to smoke my D4 supply down. Partagas profile showed up more vividly at the end of 2/3 going into 3/3. Got some cinnamon and a pleasant bit of spice. Just the right touch. Didn’t know what to expect of this one as I read a lot of mixed reviews but I was very pleasantly surprised. There was a sophistication in its subduedness, and I’m interested to see how this batch ages.

Popular Post Fugu
Especiales No.2 (‘22). Was about to read a bit but cigar kept all my attention and focus. If at that level good (and it mostly is) it’s a strong contender for my desert island cigar category. Enjoyed it immensely.
