This CoRo was from the 04 robusto sampler that kept cropping up, the box famous for being extremely cedar heavy.

This is the first CoRo I've ever had so I've nothing to compare to. I took the cigars out of their original packaging a couple of years ago in the hope of tempering some of the cedar.

Construction was fantastic, nice bit of resistance. The cold draw had a distinct cedar note but upon lighting I couldn't find it again.

Never particularly good at picking up lots of flavours but the first third  had a slight hint of light honey. A little tunneling in the middle, possibly due to me letting it die down.

Overall very enjoyable, medium-light, nothing spectacular and certainly wouldn't splash out at today's prices based on the experience.

I was lucky enough to pick up a couple of 3 packs of CoRo before it got out of hand, hoping to try one soon to compare.

Primaveras Ox on a hot evening. Hoyo is usually a good hot weather choice.  This one’s not spectacular, but it is just right. Only real knock on it is a very flaky ash.

edit: pitched it after a couple inches in.  It got dirty and bitter. Next!

Stronger than I expected and flaky ash…hoping the next HDM will do better.

I just took delivery of a carton of those El Laguito Monte Edmundos that were up recently: GES OCT 23.

Could not resist trying one right off the truck today. They look and smell A+. Dark, oily, smooth and silky wrapper: beautiful presentation.

In short, if these come up again run, do not walk, towards them. This was seriously strong for Monte, but that will mellow. Spicy, dark cocoa and coffee, rich rich rich. Lovely construction and a slow burn. Definitely a bit of youthful ungainliness in the back third, but that will sort itself out. Exemplary. Yes these are just over USD30 but that’s still good value for this quality. Forget what Edmundos used to cost…

Excellent
