An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

My first Lusitania. Only a year old, but still really nice smoke. I'll leave the other nine alone for a year and see how they are.

Had an SP Escuderos RE Alemania over the weekend. Classic SP profile/notes with plenty of wood, earth and a touch of pepper. There was a slight touch of creaminess in there, but not much. The construction, draw and burn were all very good. Started off medium bodied and turned fuller around the mid-way point. I'm not sure these are worth the RE premium, but if you like the SP profile in a different format, they are not that bad. I'm not sure ageing will improve these much so I'll smoke em...

Had a HDM Epi2 (2011) last night, everyone says they are mild and smooth but mine are a little on the bitter side, a little tingle on the tongue (but not overhumidified). Still quite enjoyable, construction was top notch and razor sharp burn.

Hey bossman, the Cuaba divino's are great little smokes with lots of nutty flavour. The only issue is they have a pretty high plug rate from my experience. They also need a bit of age.

Hope this helps.

Ok thanks for the info

A coro 10, I know 3 years isn't aged. But now I see why these benefit from a nice long nap. I have two to other full boxes, that i won't touch for at least 5 years. Maybe should add a psp box just for fun :)

It did not impress me. Very mild medium. Mostly cedar/woodsy notes. Aroma at cold was very fruity and spicy. It's too bad none of that came through. I probably won't smoke another for a year or so.

Thanks for sharing!

Partagas C1 from the recent book and an authentic Monsdale from 2011 - fabulous is an understatement for those

In your opinion, what do you mean by authentic Monsdale? I know Jorge Lopez has been rolling these for a couple of years now since Mons retired but do you mean authentic b/c Mons rolled it himself in 2011?

Would you consider Monsdales coming from Cuba today still authentic since Jorge is rolling them or only authentic if Mons rolled them himself? I think I know the answer to this but curious to hear your input

Thanks in advance,

Bart

Finally! A glorious afternoon of sunshine in Halifax. Lounging on the slopes of the Citadel, caramel macchiato, and a potently fresh RASS from a cab (Ago 2012, "MUR"?). Thanks Kevin! (Yes, Frank finally got them to me.) ;)

It's my first RASS with the "new" band with the redesigned embossing detail and text. It caught my eye at first - looks very sharp and nicely improved.

The cigar was potent! They'll definitely be ones to see how they age and meld together. Definitely seem to have legs for years to come, but also taste like they need at least a year from now yet to get to where they should be to start really enjoying them. Power and bold flavours all over the place, RA elements in there for sure, but almost like an RA and SDN4 were combined together, and then dipped in molasses-soaked oil-rich impeccible tobacco! LOL.

There was lots of youthful tones throughout, but no real overly harsh finish either. It's got some wonderful tobacco in it. The flavours were a bit all over, but still a solid 92 cigar right now, and these should easily get into the 94-97 territory with only 3 years, I'd guess. Just amazing stuff.
