Popular Post AllorNothing Posted February 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 3, 2024 Just ate a plate of cavatelli sausage and rapini, finished off with an espresso and a series D no.4. Dry boxed since Tuesday. Flavors seem bolder than I remember having it straight out the humidor. It’s a carbs day… 24

Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted February 3, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 3, 2024 "Eye of the Shark" (purchased in 2021, though unknown age). (2016 was Carlos Sr.'s 80th birthday for which these were created, at least as stated on the box, but I don't know when and for how long these were/are later issued.) First time I had one (in 2021), this cigar was so strong it chased my wife off of the deck(!) She exclaimed "I do not understand what you enjoy about those things!" and it took me a while to get her to sit together again that afternoon. It was a beast, though I still enjoyed it This cigar is now much more composed. Any formerly "rough edges" melded into very pleasant transitions, though it's still medium to full-on in strength. Quite nice. Cinnamon and cedar with nice transitions. Keen to see how another couple of years bring it along. 17

He might not be a cigar lover like Sylvester or Arnold. This is an astute observation. Clint smoked those cigars in the Dollars trilogy (i.e. the films, ' A Fistful of Dollars', 'For a Few Dollars More' and 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly') because director Sergio Leone was an Italian filmmaker who had a grand passion for all things American, especially its history and cinema. Clint was definitely not a smoker, but he had to do it for these films to maintain Leone's authentic vision. For example, if we take the truly brilliant Western, 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' we plainly see extensive use of long dust jackets which Leone saw in a reference book from the American Civil War, which is the period in which this film is set. Later Hollywood Westerns copied this trend, perhaps most famously in 'Tombstone'. Also, notice the colour of these hats these characters wear in these films. In the 50s and earlier, Hollywood Westerns typically had the hero wear a white hat and the villain/s wear black ones so the audience could clearly distinguish them. The beauty of Leone's films is that, like the characters, the hats are all a shade of grey (or similar). 7

Bought them on release out of curiosity, but never got around to smoking one. Now you got me intrigued... 😅 1

Popular Post El Hoze Posted February 4, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 4, 2024 Fantastic cigar. Have only smoked a couple so far. No rush on these. Very rich! 23

Popular Post Rushman Posted February 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 5, 2024 No photos but enjoyed a so so Monte 2 and a really decent Monte 4 with @Çnote and @Capn_Jackson at their local b&m. Discussion was much better than the sticks. if you find yourself in DFW let these gents know and visit Paladin Cigars. These two gents are top notch as were Jero and Mason tending the ship when I was there Sunday and Saturday respectively. 9 2
Popular Post ha_banos Posted February 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 5, 2024 Maestro del Tiempo tonight. Spicy start but thankfully calms down quickly. Then not much going on. I mean it's ok. Just pretty inoffensive. There is a finish to it though. 17
Popular Post Capn_Jackson Posted February 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 5, 2024 PSdP, TRU OCT’19 and JL1 RUM MAR ‘18 Also, had the distinct pleasure today of meeting @Rushman. As I arrived, he gave me four extremely nice gifts, and a listing of their box codes. He then also handed me a RyJ Wide Churchill. Many thanks, good sir, I am floored by your generosity! The Regios and Superiores are two favorites, and I can’t wait to light up the others as well. 21
Popular Post X-Man Posted February 5, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 5, 2024 Don Juan The way I would describe this stick is an average Cuban cigar. I tasted some fruity melon-like sweetness with plain tobacco as the main flavor. Nevertheless, I still nubbed it. Cheers FOH! Y’all have a great week ahead! 17
