RyJ Ex.4 from 2017, in gorgeous Nafplion. Took my boy to see Mycenae today, which is just the most extraordinarily ghostly, evocative ancient site from around 1300BC.

I really want to love RyJ. Every now and then you get the red fruit, Turkish delight and Levantine spiced wonder. But mostly you get a fairly strong, somewhat less interesting smoke with faint edges of sweetness. This was one of those. But the setting makes up for it.

Trinidad Vigia from RAG MAR 19 on a quiet beach today. Nice rich and decently refined smoke. I definitely get the doughnut thing with Trini. This box have all had great construction: not too loose despite the stupid size. But… it is still a stupid size. Not remotely worth the current price either, so when these are gone that’s it!

I went to their launch / sampling couple weeks back and had to pick up a few more. Awesome tobacco, reliably constructed and in an Irish context, very reasonably priced.
