Popular Post RDB Posted June 25, 2023 Popular Post Posted June 25, 2023 2021 Nudies Lanceros, first maduro then rosado (on different days). Both very enjoyable, just under 2hr smokes. So different. The maduro is really Monte exagerated: cocoa and chocolate cake, touch of dark moist earth, no pepper or bite. Not much evolution, maybe not huge complexity, but a great profile and a very well behaved smoke. The rosado is much higher register in its flavours, much more herbal and spicy. More apparent complexity. Both smoking great now, but it’s the rosado I would watch for the future. Then La Trova ARS AGO 19. My box is just gorgeous looking: film star cigars. But, it’s just a big fat cigar that tastes like a Trinidad. The classic donut breadiness, a very gentle twist of baklava / pistachio sweetness. This one burned fast and needed correction. Maybe as a result it fell apart a bit in the last third, becoming muddled and less flavoursome rather than the glorious build one expects and hopes for. These are fine at the old prices. 31
