Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted April 27, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 27, 2023 Advance notice: There's said to be a Tatuaje dinner in Charleston with Pete Johnson set for Saturday, June 3rd. It hasn't been formally announced as yet, but I will send another note when/if it's done. In preparation, I enjoyed one of his very fresh Lomo de Cerdo's tonight. To my taste, it needs a bit of time; however the last third was worth reaching, even at this early age on this cigar. Who know's for sure, but it surely seems like one that will improve markedly given it's very young age now. The 2nd/3rd of the new Tatuaje was just too fresh for my taste, ...so I lit an Sig IV (TPO Sep 2017; from our hosts) that I'd come across while organizing earlier today. It was an entirely unfair comparison to both cigars as the Tatuaje became very good (and very pleasantly strong) in the last 3rd, and the Sig IV began so, so softly (though is picking up very nicely now). A good night overall, nonetheless. Net/Net: I'll be aging my remaining "new" Tatuajes and further aging my Sig IVs. As a postscript, in case it's not already apparent: I am not at all suggesting this combination as a "compare and contrast" (which I often like to do). These two cigars create very different and (eventually) wonderful flavors, but I think I'd have enjoyed each of them all the more on their own. 22

Would never guessed it was RA. Pretty generic but could be attributed to its youth I like the RA No. 3's, but does have a different RA blend. I am resting those I have for a few years and will come back to them. 1
