An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

A fairly nice cigar weekend for me...

Quintero Panatela - Nice looking cigar. Well constructed. Quite tasty for the first half, then got real hot. Likely my own fault.

Jose L. Piedra Nacionales - Ugly cigar...quite mild. Makes for a good yard gar though. Enjoyed it in that context as I weeded the flower beds and cleaned the grill.

Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial - Foot was a bit split from transport, but did not affect the burn at all. Outside of that is was a beautiful cigar in appearance. A bit too hard. Draw was not plugged, but quite tight. Still, smoked it about 3/4s of the way down. Fantastic armoa came from the smoke. Mild cigar, but the flavors were complex. I was very impressed.

Enjoyed a very good Partagas SP2 Saturday night. My favorite piramide hands down. This particular cigar was somewhat underfilled and had an easy draw. Very enjoyable nonetheless.

RyJ #2 Tubo. The wrapper was dark and oily but I couldn't pick up any strong flavours because the cigar was plugged and produced very little smoke. I solved this problem by pulling out two solid pieces of midrib. The draw improved considerately and the last third was very spicy in a pleasant way.

Enjoying a Boli PC while sitting on the deck on a hot day doing some work and listening to Brazil vs Chile.

Cigar was a little over humidified and thus burn was uneven but I love the caramel taste of these.

After being away from home for nearly 3 wks. Monday was a great smoking day for me:

Edmundo Dante 109 quite nice

Bolivar Simones Amazing and I'm still wishing I would have bought more! Damn!!!!!

Partagas Coronas Senior. Dark honey sweetness and then lots of spice ... good value for the money. Also, the old tubo design looks a lot more classy.

MAR 09 D4. My usual experience- a good but not great cigar. Guess these just aren't favrites of mine.

Smoked an 08 Romeo y Julieta Short Churchill yesterday. Tasted like sweet cedar with cherry undertones and a bit of leather. Today I had a Por Larranaga Montecarlos from 08 that was toasty with buttered bread and coffee cream qualities. A great morning smoke.

I also smoked one today, box code TEB 08. They really are outstanding-I can only hope to have the willpower to age some.

SCdlH Principe am.

Perdomo Lot 23 in pm. I know what you're thinking - WTF? Yah, took it from my brother's humidor that's been there for a couple years. Dumped it after a few puffs. Was more curious than anything.

With my wife and kids camping this weekend, I invited some friends for a beer, whisky and cigar sampling session. We emptied an enormous amount of bottles of beer from a Norwegian countryside microbrewery (www.igb.no), a bottle of 20yo Aultmore Speyside whisky and sampled the following cigars: Bolivar Colosales (RE GE), Bolivar Regentes, Por Larranage Lonsdales (RE GE), H. Upmann Robustos and Partagas Salamones. The Bolivar Regentes impressed me most, and stands out as the best cigar I have sampled in 2010.
