Popular Post Lamboinee Posted December 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 21, 2022 Recent delivery of nudie lonsdales made me want to explore some long n skinny smokes. The first long n skinny that I remember changing my perspective on cigars was the Hedley Grange Drumstick by Crowned Heads. I smoked that back 10ish years ago and I was amazed at how the flavors transitioned and returned as I smoked down the stick. That was impressive and enjoyable to me. This was the first time I smoked this size Atabey. It was a beautiful cigar. It looked so good it made me want to smoke it. Construction was still good/great despite a "empty tunnel" that appeared for a bit and even despite one relight. I give some leeway for one relight on a long smoke like this, especially since it didn't effect the flavor on relight. However, the flavor was a one-note bummer. Not only did it smack of paper and "too light" woody flavors, but it was kind of boring. On two or three puffs there was inklings of potential to develop into an HUP thick luxurious flavor profile ... But it never developed. Just papery light wood the whoooooole way through. Finished this long smoke in the hot tub in hopes that it would improve mental interpretation of the cigar, but to no avail. Smoke time was appropriately long, I didn't time this one. To the cigars credit, the flavor never fell off in the latter part or got bitter. But, flavor can't really fall off of anything if never climbed anything to begin with. I will continue to sample some more of the selected tobacco stuff. It's too pretty and too well made not to try. And I have several blends that remain unexplored. 7.5/8 out of 10. 20

Popular Post PuroDiario Posted December 22, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 22, 2022 Tried this one for the first time as I continue to explore NC world. Outstanding construction and good cigar overall, including a beautiful wrapper to which so many bands make no justice. Not up my alley in terms of flavor, don’t think I’m repeating. So far from Plasencia Reserva cosecha is the one I liked most. 19

I tried the white label one, it had some sort of strange artificial flavor out of this world, it was really awful and It ruined my day by giving me a severe headache. Great construction but flavor was off.

Popular Post PuroDiario Posted December 23, 2022 Popular Post Posted December 23, 2022 Continuing on the daily exploration of NCs, today was turn for my first ever Ashton VSG, I think this one is called Enchantment. other than the flaky ash, the cigar was perfectly constructed. Flavor wise again not exactly my thing, though was undoubtedly good. Very meaty, almost game like, some cocoa and earth/leather one could argue wet earth. Very particular. White pepper but not a pepper bomb at all. Not a flat cigar, pretty pronounced development along thirds. I liked it, would consider repeat down the line. too many NCs, so I rebalanced with this glorious 2018 Genios from my fav at Gijón, Tania. Im-f’ing-pecable Casa Cuba - continuing on the NC exploration. Great after dinner cigar, love it. Fantastic. 31
