An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

Had a young San Cristobal La Punta while watching World Cup game Uruguay and South Africa.

Cigar's construction was below average with some soft spots and a little too tight on the draw for the first third. Nonetheless, the first third was quite enjoyable with nutty, earthy and even dusty (in a good sense) characters. The second third was not too good, earthy characters but with a touch of plastic taste. Last third was all right mainly earthy and cedary. Not the best cigar I've had in the past few weeks. 85 - 86

I was hoping to get the sweet cherry / blackberry taste that I've had in some San Cristobal but can't say that I was successful.

Today I'll smoke a recent production Partagas P2 watching France vs Mexico. It has been quite some time since I last smoked one of these. I loved them when they first came out. It felt like I was smoking a peanut butter cigar!

some CAO double ligero LX2 rubbish...so far I have enjoyed the Brazilia and Italia from that line and rest has been poor. then had a couple of dip 4's with two mates over some wine, much better!

Over the weekend:

Partagas Short - Draw was tight but full flavoured

Mag 50 - Perfect every time

Connie 1 - On the mild side but nice and smooth

El Principe - Full flavoured like the Party Short but more nutty.

I need to get more of the Mag 50...

Really enjoyed a Monte Especial ('07) yesterday. Monte's aren't usually my thing, but these are truly glorious.

My wife had a San Cristobal El Principe (Nov ’08) and she loved it. I took a few puffs in the first 3rd and I was getting amazing caramel and molasses favors.

I've tried every CAO product, and the Brazilia Box-Pressed are by far the best smoke in the entire portfolio. Great with morning coffee

Tonight a Romeo y Julieta Romeo No. 1 (Tubo) and a Partagas de Luxe (Tubo). Not impressed with the RyJ. Undefilled and bitter. The latter had an inkling of Partagas flavor, even burn, but the draw became really tough in the final third.

Joyo De Nicaragua Dark Antano-too loose of a draw and bitter.

E.P. Carrillo Short Run-pretty nice.

SLR Regios (HQ 08)-really delicious, reminded me of gingerbread.

I have a box of HQ 08 Regios- best Regios I've ever smoked.

Today a 98 Punch SS#2. People rave about these, but just a good not great cigar to me. Never a big Punch fan.

Tonight a RASS, my first, very enjoyable. smoked it while drinking Glenlevit 15YO and enjoying the company of my brother at a local cigar bar.

Last Night an H. Upmann Petit Corona Tubo and a Bolivar No. 3 Tubo. The H. Upmann had a very tight draw. Got tired smoking it after the 2/3 and chucked it. The Bolivar was better in terms of draw and flavors, but it was still lacking on the flavor side. Only the slightest hint of the earthiness I expect from Bolis...then again these are inexpensive smokes. You get what you pay for, right?

Just finished my first RA Estupendos. Beautiful looking cigar, too bad it was way too tight. It wasn't plugged but I barely got any smoke or flavor out of it. When I did, the cigar was bitter and disgusting. I'm sure I just got a bad one...

Last night smoked a super-fresh Cohiba Robusto (2/2010). Good flavors, great construction, helluva nicotine kick to it. Needs a year or 2 to mature, but sure is a promising smoke.

Right now working through a 2007 RASS. Never been high on my list. This one is pretty good, although I still fail to see what all the hype is about these. To each their own.
