Popular Post SigmundChurchill Posted July 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 4, 2022 So it's the 4th of July, and I am in Barcelona. I brought 2 special cigars to smoke on this vacation, and I figure this is the day to smoke one of them. @Ryan, you might appreciate this story. I don't know what it's like to not be in the US on the 4th of July, plus I am always on a beach on the 4th. Well, at least they have beaches here, so I tell the hotel concierge that I need a someone to take my wife and I to a nice beach for the day. So the car picks us up in front of the hotel in the morning, and the driver tells tells me he is taking me to Costa Brava. I'm thinking that this sounds like a place right out of Game of Thrones, so I say "Take me to the best beach in Westeros." Which gets me a really puzzled look by the driver. So he brings us to this really cool beach in a town called Tossa de Mar. And the beach is overlooked by, I kid you not, a castle and town surrounded by a wall, from like the Middle Ages around it. As I was sitting in my beach chair, I was scanning the sky for dragons. When we went for lunch at one of the village restaurants, I asked the waiter if they had any Dornish wine, which got me the same exact confused look that the limo driver gave me. I cant complain though, they had the best paella I have ever had. Happy Independence Day! Now I'm back in Barcelona, smoking a Media Luna at the rooftop bar at my hotel. EDIT And now a few hours later, back on the roof of the hotel, smoking a Connie 2. 30

I drove up from Salamanca to Bilbao today. Cooler here. It’s nice. I’m on a very oily Picador I picked up last week. 22

Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted July 5, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 5, 2022 (edited) A Pasion d'Amor (6 1/8" x 48) from the Puff. Just lovely, and with a fun book Edit: The first 2/3rds were just great, but I think the cigar might benefit from another year for the final third. Popular Post FlyingGlass Posted July 5, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 5, 2022 SLR DC on the patio. Cab was one of my first pickups from FOH 12 years ago. Cigars have just shy of fifteen years on them now. Wonderful smoke. Great aroma. SLR DC stone fruit and cream. Even burn the whole way. Not a single relight or touchup needed. Great cigar to pause and slow down. 28

SigmundChurchill Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 Just now, Ryan said: I hope your cigar hunting is going well there! Not so well. Shelves are pretty bare all over. The guy at 100 La Rambla had a few of the regionals, but he said they were reserved for another customer. And there's no reason for me to buy a box of D4s for $400 and change, to carry them around Spain and then sneak through American customs when I can have them shipped to my house from any online vendor for just a little bit more. 4
Popular Post RedLantern Posted July 5, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 5, 2022 Painting our living room and listening to the ball game between coats - enjoying a FOH custom robusto (thanks again @NicPac) Wonderful cigar! Loads of sweet cream with some cedars hints. Rich custardy smoke in droves. Adding in a hint of fruitiness? In the 2nd half! Anyone with a link to info on these? I think they were run just before Covid hit or thereabouts? I’d love to read the original release info to learn more about them! 22 1 1
