Popular Post Spaceman Spiff
19 RASS - wrapper is a bit on the lighter side, at least in comparison to some more recent 50 cabs of RASS that I have. Not lacking in any flavor, however!

Popular Post RDB
Fresh D4, from a new box TPL JUN 21. I fancied something young and rambunctious, and this did not disappoint. Full of rich, bready Partagas flavour, complex and satisfying. Lovely construction and a decent burn despite the youth. Pretty strong in nicotine and getting a bit much for me in the back half, but that’s just youth. A great box ahead: thank you FOH.

Popular Post Glass Half Full
Well, what an unusual New Year it's been so far: Tested positive on Dec 31, and isolated and was (generally) well behaved for the following 11 days, till testing negative. Being very careful because of care for my dad (96) and my wife’s parents (in their 80’s). Followed by a series of incidents for the older folks, …so just now enjoying cigars again out on the deck before the cold sets in again. Decided to try a La Ley Laguito Reserva 2016 Gran Toro (first heard of on FOH) — AND for the sake of contrast and fun — an R&J Short Churchill (MSA Ago 2018) after seeing some on the 24:24. What a contrast of flavors and draw! The LL was all I've come to expect from a very good NC: perfect construction and draw, and no surprises (neither good nor bad); this one struck me as mild to medium. The R&J SC had much more progression (despite its small size), some intensity at times and some good surprises. (First time, I think, I really understood what the "mongrel" taste was; enjoyed it!) ...Though the R&J required some relights. ...Good fun overall. Enjoyed some tunes along the way. These won’t inspire the heavy metal members, …but those who enjoy more current takes on a classic and also “Cuban” flavors might like these sounds… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHYD53id1oo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqLhLDbm0d8 All the best, Glass Half Full

Popular Post Chibearsv
Another thread inspired me to pull a Talisman from the stash. This one had a darker wrapper and was rich with coffee and chocolate mostly, some light earthiness, and not much of the Cohiba twang that I'm used to. Perfect construction and burn. A delicious cigar, no complaints at all. 2019 Dip 2. So much better than the blind tasting cigar #5. Sourdough, meaty, twangy. Very good 29

Popular Post ithaca
I really love this one. My closest Cuban dealer recommended this instead of the Epi 2. In my personal taste this is a superb smoke. This is up there with my favourites (P2 and Behike).

Popular Post karp
Bolivar Tubos no1 2015 from recent FOH auction. Smoked this one ROTT since I couldn’t wait… and I was not disappointed. Outstanding cigar, smooth yet palate coating. Buttery, nutmeg and allspice - almost like a Partagas, biscuit, prune, leather. Rich smoke and immaculate burn.

Popular Post Spaceman Spiff
Protocol Elliot Ness Toro - I make it a point to try most everything I can that comes out of the La Zona factory, as whatever tobacco they use there seems very agreeable to me. I think Protocol was started by some ex law enforcement so a lot of their blends are themed as such. The Elliot Ness is rich, spicy and leans to the dry & savory side.
