Good but the sampler and the secretos I got recently ended up a bit drier than is typical for ROTT FOH cigars and smoked a bit harsher/spicier than usual.

Overall spice, molasses, tobacco, dried fruit and earth. I mainly smoke el principes from san Cristobal and I find those are mainly molasses and earth.

San Cristobal la Fuerza… Belgian waffle, slight coffee, almond, ginger and slight cedar aromas.. This is a great cigar, I’m really enjoying these.

So smoked my first (Partagas) D5 out of the box which was also my first ever and it was “meh”. Not bad in anyway. Tasted familiar but wasn’t satisfying like a D4 or D6. Kind one dimensional.

Box I have is from mid 2020. I did smoke the ugliest one in the box though. One with a busted foot which luckily burned away evenly but a cracked cap that did end up causing issues after the first third. That said I haven’t had a D5 stick I’ve “loved” yet. QD50 left me wanting something else as did the LGDC regional España D5. Maybe not my vitola.

Decent ash on the D5 and it was a very loose draw.

So a few hours later I lit up a Party Short which hit the spot.

I don't smoke many NCs and this the first Macanudo.

Edit: gifted about 4 years ago so it has a bit of age.

Smoke time was a very unusual/surreal 2 hours and 10 minutes! Might be the longest I've smoked a cigar this year. Think the next longest was an Esplendido at 2 hours, maybe a DC went longer I'd have to check.

Previous ones have averaged much closer to an hour.
