An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

Yeah, just really sucked since it was my first Cigar of the day, and I had such high expectations and was really looking forward to it as it seems to be considered the best HDM from what I've read on various forums.

Was hoping it would start my day off on a high note like I always try to do, but it was just a terrible experience for my first and only one of these and for a first Cigar of the day

@billyh79

Very nice travel case.

Where did you get it?

I like that it also holds a cutter and other supplies.

Thankfully, I have always had good luck with the draw being great with torpedoes, piramides and belicosos, which is good as I'm a sucker for them and buy everything in those vitolas whenever possible

It’s an old Nat Sherman Italian leather case that came from my grandfather. The pockets are a little odd sized but it’s a great case.

Nice, especially cool it came from your grandfather, and looks like a really nice case.

How are these smoking?

Pretty good. This was from a LGR JUN 17 box. I don't have a huge preference between the 4 different minutos but if I had to rank them it would probably be Bolivar Coronas Junior, El Principe (these), Partagas Shorts and then Ramon Allones Small Club Coronas, though it's pretty close overall (I smoke all 4). Just wish I had another box of El Principe as they seem to be in short supply now.

Thanks for the info. I was blown away by a La Fuerza recently so am going to get these too if they show up! Love the molasses flavour.

How was it? I have one but holding off after a bad experience with a Diademas. Heard these were good.

2020 Monte no2 smoked while unpacking my latest FOH goodies. These have been indeed excellent lately… can’t decide if I should get a box since I usually smoke the Edmundos and have a good stock of them already.

If a box of no.2's were within my price range, I'd go for it, one, before prices get even higher and stock gets lower, and two, I think the no.2's are better than the Edmundos personally, not that the Edmundos aren't excellent too.

The no.2 is my favorite Montecristo, which is my favorite marca

Trova is such a classy cigar …..flavors are very rich and have quite a lasting finish …..they pick up decently in flavor intensity by the final 1/3 but only complaint (and from many) is the lighter body ……my recommendation is to know what the right occasion and setting for such a cigar is ….this is a cigar that should probably best be smoked indoors with a less over powering pairing than the stout I chose lol you should set yourself up to savor and think on This kind of smoke …..but what do I know !?

They seem to get excellent reviews on the forums

Big fan of the La Fuerza. Excellent Cigars and I smoke a fair amount of them.

2008 Cuaba EL

@Trimming

How was the Cuaba EL?

First one I have ever seen, on the forums and with any vendors in my handful of trusted ones.

Didn't even know they existed and really like the Cuaba profile, at least from smoking the Divinos, traditionales (my preferred one), and Distinguidos.

Never had any of the others yet

@smbauerllc

Definitely different, I don’t reach often for  Cuaba or what it umbrellas , but glad I have a few. Seems to have the “twang” sort of like a tangy meat marinade that catches the taste buds on the side of tongue.
