Pardon the NC's - now occasionally working in Maryland - the land of no smoking - anywhere ! Found a local B&M with a great group of guys. The only rule is you can only smoke what's bought there - doesn't go for the "I bought another cigar - can I smoke one I brought in" try. No issues, every time I'm in I try something different that is recommended by the proprietor - actually fun trying different cigars. RGPC (SOM-MAY-17) SCdlH La Punta (RAT-MAY-20) Esteli Sun Grown followed by a Henry Clay War Hawk Boli PC (MSU-MAY-19) Esteli Las Calaveras LE 2021 I tried the Henry clay war hawk recently as well at a cigar dinner sponsored by a well established cigar store. Thought it was ok, but lacked some of the depth/developments of Cuban. Enjoyable, but won’t be in my rotation for a while. 1

Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted September 13, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2021 A yesterday and tonight post... Watched the women's tennis final yesterday while enjoying a Monte 2 from 2015. Good match; good cigar (though both a bit less "wow" than expected. The Monte was delicious, though didn't shine till the last third for some reason. Perfect construction though.) Tonight enjoyed a 2015 (recurrent theme Club Allones EL. A bit more mellow than my preference, and more relights and touch-ups than I would hope for (the Monte's construction was notably better to me) ...but the last third is again shining -- and now exhibiting much of the RA that I enjoy. 24

The draw was terrible even after using my perfecdraw, but the flavor was still good. This was my first one of these, so I can't compare it to younger ones, but it was earthy tobacco and leather throughout and never got above medium bodied. I'm looking forward to the rest of them, and just hope I don't have too many draw issues that can't be fixed. And sorry for the generic review, I'm terrible with identifying tasting notes. 1

smbauerllc Posted September 13, 2021 Posted September 13, 2021 Monte A Very cool packaging, but it should be for the price of them, lol. Sounds like several boxes of hoyo will be featured in my next restock. Thanks for the input, I look forward to trying them all @ChuckMangione You likely won't regret anything that you buy and try, Hoyo is a solid marca and I stock and smoke a lot of them. Would highly suggest buying a few singles to try before shelling out for a box of something unknown to you though. Could potentially save you money and disappointment. I always buy 2 or 3 singles of anything I have never had before (assuming I can find them as singles, not many vendors carrying a good stock of singles, if they carry any at all), before buying a box of something I have never had. Monte Open Master PET NOV 15 @M1B Rare to see anything in the Open line posted on these types of threads on any of the forums I belong to. Personally, I like the Open Master and Regatta. We are very much in the minority though. The Open line gets no love from most people
Popular Post smbauerllc Posted September 13, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 13, 2021 Partagas Presidentes Extremely tasty like the other one I had, and had excellent construction and draw. Burn was pretty rough until the last 3rd, but until my butane they finally allowed me to have for my triple flame torch lighter arrives today, i have been forced to use a regular old bic, and its difficult to get an even light with them and difficult to correct the burn with them, and are unusable in any kind of breeze. So I will take the blame for the burn. Perfect vitola for a 1hr smoke too, aside from being one of the tastiest Partagas I have had so far '16 Perdomo Habano Corojo Robusto Very tasty and very smooth, mellow and mild. Draw, burn and construction was perfect Picked up a little in the second half to about a mild-medium A very enjoyable post nap smoke Quesada Tributo Alvaro Great taste and very smooth, but a solid medium. Perfect draw, burn and construction Added to my bookmarks to buy a five pack 16

Side notes, TSA taking my torch is a strong reminder that using a soft flame is not my thing and SoCal Sunsets worth a visit even in the fire haze. Nice sunset picture. Yeah, lots of smoke here from fires too. I have had to use a cheap soft flame bic for about a year and a half and agree they suck for Cigars. They are finally letting me have butane for my torch lighter and the can arrives today, so no more bics for me finally

Popular Post Spaceman Spiff Posted September 14, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 14, 2021 17 Warped Corto - one of my favorite Nica cigars, and one of my first box purchases one I decided to get more serious about cigars. These age supremely well (at least to date) and they burn incredibly slow with excellent, rich smoke output. Pepper start, then cream, roasted nuts, cocoa and floral accents. To any Nicaraguan fans out there, I highly suggest grabbing a 5er and seeing what you think! 15

I have read of multiple people calling them the best, quintessential Hoyo, so curious on your thoughts ss I have one I haven't smoked yet (granted yours had a little age, and the age of mine is unknown) The price isn't bad for a large vitola (if I could find them in stock anywhere), and especially if they are as good as I'm hearing. Also, got a link to your review you mentioned? Looked in the Habanos review and the competitions sections and didn't see it and would love to read it.

Cream and increasing dark tea flavors emerged over time. Smoke was thick but cigar was not overpowering at all. I hit the point of complete cigar satisfaction with about 3/4 of an inch of the stick left, a perfect smoke for me. A classic Hoyo flavor profile without the slightest bite Histoically I have been a PC Kinda guy stretching to robustos periodically. I am increasingly moving to dabble with DC and Churchill’s. There is a season for everything. Not so sure how many of these DC I’ll be smoking this winter though 1
