Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted August 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 15, 2021 A day of surprises, good ones thankfully A surprise delivery arrived from a friend who knows I enjoy rum. A bottle of the Diplomatico Ambassador (which I’d not tried before). …Such a happy surprise, I decided to add a cigar I’ve been waiting some years to try, purchased in Spain back in 2019. I’ve read conflicting reviews of the Talisman, but I am struck by its subtlety, easy draw and wonderful retrohales. …And then my son called, and the night became complete Hope you all are well, 26

I have never asked him, but think it would be a pretty safe bet that the answer is "no". Those C2 convertibles are beautiful though, right? 7

Popular Post Glass Half Full Posted August 15, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 15, 2021 (edited) Went for a Genios (REG Sep 2019) this evening -- hoping for an interesting contrast to last night's Talisman splurge, ...which ended up true. I found the draw of the Genios to be much tighter (despite keeping it at 63% since 2019) than the T, but the flavour (to me) is subtly much more rich, and differentiated by the thirds. (Guessing that the wider girth of the Talisman -- just 2/64ths -- helps it perform well throughout.) But the Genios, perhaps due to its beautifully dark wrapper -- this experience is more complex and progressive in its 3rds. Both were wonderful experiences, just different, ...and I'd be inclined towards more Genios. ps: Except for the perfect construction, the last 1/3rd of the Genios is distinct from any Cohiba I have ever had. This is my first (slightly) aged Genios. I had one after buying the box, but it paled in comparison. While I am a big fan of the Secretos; they themselves are their own petite, flavour bombs, though distinctly different from the "round" cedar and impressive finish to the Genios. ...All just personal experience of course, ...and in case any of that is helpful. Popular Post karp Posted August 16, 2021 Popular Post Posted August 16, 2021 SLR Regios from my sampler (thank you FOH!)… this was a very decent cigar but I did not taste any nutty flavours, some nice floral / fruit in last half though. Excellent Monte Edmundo 2020 PSP from our host. 23
