One of my own creations tonight, had these sitting for about 3 months since rolling and their starting to get over their sick period. CT broad leaf wrapper, Indonesian binder, with nica and Cameroon filller in a panetela.

Hoyo de Monterrey Especial / 2018 (box code unknown; purchased from Hotel Nacional - 2018)

Best experience with this Marca to date.  I'd tried this same one earlier, and decided it needed rest; may need a bit more for my taste.  ...BUT worlds better from younger tries on it IMO.  

Curious what your experiences are:  Construction seems good.  How many years rest makes this Marca optimal?  (Had a HdM #2 also, after just one year and it too struck me as needing time.  Granted all taste is personal.)

...So, wanting just a bit more... Went to the Cohiba Secreto -- a bite sized bit of "Wow!"

Perhaps an unfair comparison to the earlier HdM.  This little thing just never disappoints.  (LGR Nov 2018).  In my (limited) experience, I've come to believe in the 40-50 mins of pure pleasure made possible by a well-crafted, petite cigar -- a panatela or secreto.  (Never a re-light; no touch-ups; just flavours.)

(Did the 3-match start tonight just for fun, though it was surely overkill for this little thing.]

(Ended up breaking out the PerfectDraw to use as a "nubber"

Tatuaje Fausto Ft153 Toro

My second of these, and one of only about 6 Tatuaje's total, but so far I'm impressed and will try more Tatuaje's until I find my perfect one

Excellent taste and perfect draw,burn and construction

Not much else to be said

 

CAO Pilon Churchill

Decent taste, good draw, terrible burn needing almost constant attention, thus likely poor construction.

Very disappointing.

Used to love CAO's, and always had quality construction, but this one certainly didn't.

Pitched it at about the halfway mark when I got sick of correcting the burn, and it developed a strong, poor taste I usually only get during the last inch or so of a Cigar, telling me its finished.

Has CAO gone downhill over the last 10 years, or was this just a dud?

Ive only had two Rio Seco. Singles so unknown date. One tunneled badly. The other had tight draw. PerfecDraw opened up a bit. I could tell for me at least its an excellent blend. Dont care for RG but I can see a 10 ct on the horizon.
