Montecristo Open Regata

Tasty as always, and perfect draw,burn and construction.
I have been far more impressed with the consistency in Montecristos than with the Cohibas I have bought, in spite of Cohiba being Cuba's flagship company and most expensive.

Couldn't help myself so I fired up one of the PLMC RAT AGO20 that I received yesterday. A very good smoke, first half has that creamy caramel thing going - almost towards butter fudge. Second half is more harsh. Love the size, a 90 minute joy! Will be hard to let these grow old so might as well grab another box whenever I can to see if it improves.

PUS MAR 18 D4. 0% chance I’d guess this one right in a blind tasting. Colorado claro wrapper and SWEET, sweet cream. Just delicious!

PSP BBF. Dry boxed a while back because I thought it felt overpacked so I forget the code, TUA ENE 20? Snug draw but smoked well. Lots of bitter notes in the best sense of the word…100% cacao chocolate bar, heavily toasted oak, leather, every now and then a faint maduro-esque sweetness comes in momentarily. Really glad I got this SLB from FOH!

Opened a new box of UEB MAR 18 PSP Monty 4’s that in the 24:24 description @El Presidente said to wait three years for these ones. It’s now been three years and with @PigFish moving tribute to his good friend Ricky I though now was as good as any time to try one and reflect on the importance of loved ones and the importance of enjoying every day. 
 

The cigar was really good but a bit muddled in the last third. The time reflecting and putting everything else on hold while I enjoyed this time alone was priceless.

HdM Epicure Especial (AME ABR 13)

Dry boxed this for about 3 weeks and the draw and burn were perfect. Excellent, complex cigar with a consistent flavor akin to an Ethiopian coffee with heavy cream. From there, the retrohales picked up hints of nutmeg, graham cracker & toast, and a mild, sweet tobacco finish. Thrilled that I have 9 more in the 'dor to enjoy! Definitely considering a 2020 box to store and forget about for a few years.

A very dark 2016 Petit Edmundo from the Canadian box pass.

My first Petit Edmundo.

Starts out pepper/cayenne and then coffee.

Cocoa and chocolate. A cool nutty flavour, like pistachio ice cream. Mint chocolate chip. Then mint and spicy cinnamon for the final third.

Ash looked like it was about to fall off but I kept tapping it and it stayed stuck on until about 2/3 of the way through.

Best of the Edmundos I've had so far.

2002 Hoyo du Roi ROTT.

Opens with spice, and spicy wood. Like pine needles in a fire.

Just before halfway on the first third I get some cream with a very tiny bit of sweet fruit flavour like peaches or maybe vanilla but not super sweet.

Mainly aromatic wood with that cream in and out. Final third is a slightly different woody taste, also a bit of a minty tingling on the tongue.

Haven't had mastic or mastic gum in well over 20 years, but might be similar in the pine/cedar/sweet vanilla flavour.

Edit: Cigar was a bit humid/moist will revisit in 60-90 days with the box has dried out a bit.

Corfu old town with Frappe and an Upmann Epicure. Couldn’t smoke anything bigger, heatwave rolling in today, temperatures expected to rise up to 37C in the next days.

Nice, have just recently started smoking some small rg Cigars and the PMLC is probably my favorite skinny cc so far

I like the p2, but also definitely prefer the e2 much more as well. Probably my favorite partagas

Granted, I have only had 2 tubos of the RyJ Churchills, but I was pretty underwhelmed with them, given the excellent reviews and popularity and price.

May try a few more in case I just got duds though.

Love the no.4 for a quick, inexpensive smoke since I'm a total monte fan, but prefer the no.3 better. Worth the extra couple bucks for them to me.

Smoked trough a fiver of 2011 no.3's and they were excellent. Still great fresh though

Couldn't have been happier with it, and had a nice full hour burn time.

Will definitely be buying more of these in the future

Very tasty. Only a couple thin veins and nearly invisible seams. Great draw,burn and construction all around.

Nice long smoke time too

Would definitely buy more in the future
