Popular Post griller Posted June 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 8, 2021 (edited) PL Galanes (RAT NOV 20) Flawless construction with an excellent draw, but not ready for prime time yet. Pretty one dimensional, medium bodied, basic tobacco and coffee overtones. Zero caramel or burnt sugar flavors to speak of. Did feel the nicotine at the midway point, which is pretty rare for me. Won't touch this box again for 6 months minimum but definitely see potential here. Edited June 8, 2021 by griller Damn autocorrect changed a word 28 1
Popular Post Scubasteve20 Posted June 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 8, 2021 I'm not big on RyJ but had this laying around. I must say it surprised me. I definitely got the cherry cream in the beginning, progressing to cream, leather, nutmeg into sweet wood bbq & mild spice notes in the end. 27

Same with me, except it was a short story natural I was given by a coworker I was training in the oilfields. Have been hooked ever since, and that was about 12 years ago now. I pretty much live and breathe Cigars now, partly because its the only one of my hobbies I can do at the veteran's home where I live now and is also my only luxury here. I Subscribe to like 6 forums, have about 8 books on Cigars, which I really need to read to increase my knowledge, as other than what I learn on the forums I actually know fairly little. Have always just made sure to try new smokes and order and smoke whatever I like and have left it at that. Really need to increase my knowledge as I think it will make for a better experience. 22 hours ago, Lrabold89 said: Joyita from yesteryear…you could take a 30 second draw of this and retro the entire thing …that smooth ….flavor is reminding me of mushrooms for some reason Not pictured: the 2 rio second I smoked back to back nights …OR…TRU 18 code …..probably my favorite regular production smoke rn ….even better than the E2 Whenever I'm putting together my next order I ponder getting some joyitas, but the smaller rg cigars always make me a little nervous about tight draws, and I just never see them mentioned, so also feared it was because they weren't any good. After reading your mini review i will actually get some to try next month Will finally be trying my first rio seco this month as I was finally able to get one in a private sale, as everywhere I looked only had them in boxes 21 hours ago, Scubasteve20 said: I'm not big on RyJ but had this laying around. Great size and taste. Was underwhelmed by the Churchills I have tried oddly enough, but both the short and wide Churchills hit the spot every time 13 hours ago, Raskol said: C&C time. Popular Post smbauerllc Posted June 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 8, 2021 Arturo Fuente Hemingway Signature Extremely tasty, like the entire Hemingway line, and my current favorite. Great size, great smoke volume, excellent burn, draw and construction SCdlH La Fuerza Tasty as always, and definitely a favorite of mine. Great burn and draw, but the wrapper cracked up fairly badly while smoking. Not a big deal as it didn't effect anything, but the first time with one of these I had any issues with. Never figured out why this happens on various different smokes, as I always let everything rest and acclimate for a couple months on arrival, and my temperature and rh are steady at 68 degrees and 65% respectively. Montecristo Media Corona Very tasty, but just over with so quickly,. It leaves me wanting more. Good little cigar for a reasonable price though 24

Popular Post Ites Posted June 8, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 8, 2021 H. Upmann Regalias AGO20 (single, probably the new 5-tin version) this is by far the lightest shade wrapper I have seen on a HU. It also had more chlorophyll spots than I've seen before. Overall a very mellow and easy going stick, but I was missing some of the nutty sweetness I've experienced from other Upmann. I blame the specimen and not the vitola. Have a Majestic waiting in storage which when comparing wrapper color is like night and day with this one so let's see! 27

I have read of some saying the difference is enough that they have a preference outside of size Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk Both are approachable when young. I tend to lean more towards 54. I find that it has some woodiness, creaminess (i love creaminess in cigars), lil hints of coffee & it's a well balanced cigar. Very smooth even when young. When you retrohale, tend to get some slight pepper at times. No harshness what so ever. It's medium in body. As for the 50 which I have only smoked less than 5 sticks if I can remember. Last one was over a year ago, kinda leathery, slight creaminess(not as much as 54), some saltiness & burnt caramel in the first half of the cigar. I felt that it needed more time to develop. Also a medium in body. Hope this helps. Keep safe always! 2
Popular Post sonarman81 Posted June 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2021 Picked up while on deployment in 2016 when we pulled into Bahrain. “American Alley”, neat place, very very nice people , respectful as I’ll get out. Anyways, picked up a bunch of singles of random sticks, this is one of the last ones. OTL JUN16 from our host. My kid graduates high school tomorrow. Some time for reflection. Popular Post karp Posted June 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2021 2019 Hoyo de Depute. Very flavourful - vanilla, nutmeg/spices, and nutty. Great little smoke. 22
Popular Post BoliDan Posted June 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2021 First Party#1 Its pretty good. I avoided them because I figured they were just expensive #4s. But the blend is certainly more ballsy. Not a fan of Maduros, but I could see myself grabbing these on sale. Ashtray was custom machined from a transmission drum by out own @BuzzArd 23

Popular Post Bijan Posted June 9, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 9, 2021 Cohiba Lancero. My new approach to tight/plugged sticks is to try and pull out twigs as I smoke and failing that partial leaves. Seems to work even though it can butcher the head a fair bit. Edit: I think I managed to take it too far and pull out the ligero? 27 1

Bri Fi Posted June 9, 2021 Posted June 9, 2021 @Bijan I have a ocd problem of pulling twigs out when I see them. Regardless of how the cigar is smoking, but if there is a tight draw then I’m going knuckle deep into the head of the cigar. 2
