I smoked one of these early on when I got into cigars but I decided to give it another try since I’ve tried a lot more and gotten into Habanos. This is definitely a great cigar by NC standards, and I’d say a mid-tier by Cuban standards. I think the flavor profile is somewhere between a Fonseca and El Ray del Mundo. Was medium bodied, with leather, nuts, and base tobacco flavors. Not complex or refined for a 7.5 yr old cigar, but not constructed or engineered to be by the master blender. Credit where credit is due..I find these typically average at best, but this was just singing. Mostly keep these on hand for my father in law but decided to check in on them. Yeasty bread, hint of salt here and there that took it towards pretzel, twangy lemon, constant creamy smoke, outstanding burn lines, loved the slightly firm draw that always left that nice cone, completely refined tannins, nubbed. Just one of those experiences we all chase. Blissful.
