Popular Post LLC Posted April 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2021 SGA DIC 16 Dantes. Really enjoy these but not a cigar I was able to go deep on. Anyone with insight on how it compares to the Leyenda? 29
Popular Post Islandboy Posted April 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2021 TES Jun 16 RAG on this Aloha Friday. Funny how I’ve got a box of RASS at 5 years old that I just can’t wrap my palate around, yet these at nearly 5 are always an absolute treat. BOR Ago 16 PSP HdM PR with some El Dorado 12 year rum to round out the evening. My how the PR has come around with its brown sugar goodness. Cheers! 34

Anyone with insight on how it compares to the Leyenda? I will have to try the dantes again soon and let you know. I have had several of both the Leyenda and Dantes and would heavily lean towards the Leyenda being the superior cigar. Mind you, the last Dantes I had was probably 1.5 yrs ago and had some burn issues. I thought it needed more time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Popular Post baltic445 Posted April 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2021 HdM Epicure De Luxe Oct 19. Very, very woody, with less salt/earthiness than the regular Epicure No. 2. Still, nice. 25
Popular Post Nino Posted April 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2021 My Easter cigar with a sparkling Rose - last one for a few days as cold front is coming in. Edmundo Dantes Mexico RE, very spicy and quite strong, almost Nicaraguan in taste profile, great construction. Impressive sky over the vilage. @Chucko8 In all of 90 minutes I saw just 2 a/c overhead ( an A-340-600 and an A-321 ) on approach to FRA whereas in "normal" times it would have been closer to 25 ... 31 1

Popular Post gojira Posted April 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2021 Today's enjoyments. QdO Panetelas POS MAY 06 A friend persuaded me to crack my box of these for a trade. It kinda broke my heart to do so but I wouldn't be able to take that box to the grave with me anyway. I smoked singles of the QdO Panetelas in the past and they were all mild cigars. The one from this box was much stonger, it took me by surprise. The cigar was stellar! PL Coronas UEB DIC 17 Tight draw as I like but not plugged. I smoked quite a few of these and only had one plugged one so far. Fundadores RAG DIC 17 33

Let me know what you think if you get a chance to try a Dantes. I’ve heard good things on the Leyenda so good you like them. 1
Popular Post GVan Posted April 3, 2021 Popular Post Posted April 3, 2021 SCdlH La Punta (RAT MAY-20). I admit it - just couldn't wait - it was only 7 days out of the freezer. Probably should have waited for a review weekend but, after Rob and Ken's review I had to tase it - and it didn't disappoint. Should only get better and better with some acclimating in the humi! Monte #4 (AMO SEP-16) ROTT - smoked beautifully, could even put it down for a minute or two and it didn't go out or ever need a touch-up. Just convinces me that's why you wait 3 to 5 years (if you can). Didn't get any chocolate more like tea and nutmeg and incredibly smooth. Should only get better as I allow them to acclimate! Funny story - I was so excited to get some 2016's in this size (my favorite) - that I took them all out of the cardboard and neatly put them in the singles drawer. As I was doing this and admiring my handiwork, the wife walked by and asked "Aren't you going to freeze those before putting them in the humi?" How dumb on my part - immediately took them all out and into a gallon ziplock -- but, how's that for a good partner! 36

Anyone with insight on how it compares to the Leyenda? As @havanaclub mentioned, I would agree that to my taste too the Leyenda is more to my preference of late. Although, the last Leyenda I had was in October 2020 and the last Dantes I had was in June 2020. In generalised terms I found the Leyenda to be more akin to lighter milk coffee, marshmallow and cream texture and the Dantes more dominant in stronger cocoa and even has some white pepper. So I feel they are on different ends of the spectrum in the Montecristo line. This question has prompted to consider re-visiting these cigars soon and smoking them back-to-back to compare. 4
