Kinda overdid it by pulling weeds for 7 hrs straight, which I blame on the last 4 weeks of rain. I earned an Esmeralda and a margarita, dammit. Absolutely loving these Esmeraldas.

Wow. I was lucky to have a friend in Switzerland at the time grab me a box for retail 280ish I think. Wish I got 2 at least. I am hoarding mine lol only for special occasions.

I really like the Choix Supreme too, but agree they are difficult to find in stock a lot of times.
I had some in my cart to order on Monday and they went out of stock on me. Sucks.

I only bought two singles of the 54 to try when it was released as I find it a bit too short for a 54 RG.

I only tend to buy ERs and ELs in 54 and 56 RG now and I'm buying less and less. Except for the Sublimes vitola as I like that one since it's pretty long. I purchased 2 cabs of the 56 when it was released and have quite a few left. Only smoked one in early 2020 and the one I had the yesterday this year. I might trade a box down the road for something else.

this particular box was not smokeable when i first tried it. very acrid although construction was very good. so age definitely helped these but i consider it an outlier. i tried a 6-er of RASS from 2020 and they smoke nice young.

A happy Saturday, good weather in Hong Kong.
This was a quite wonderful cigar. I would like to give it 92/100.
Sweet, it was so sweet and creamy, alone with roast coffee and cedar flavor.
It did not change much in the 2nd part.
For last 1/3 inch, pepper flavor became stronger and stronger, I did not enjoy too much.

 

This cigar is way too strong for me.
Salty peanuts, bitter coffee and citrus flavor, many layers and complicated taste.
The citrus flavor disappeared from half point.
In the last 1/3, black pepper flavor came on.
Think about it, bitter, salty and peppery. Not my type of cigar.
I could not quite finish this one.

Montecristo Open Master 
Very tasty and good draw, burn and construction. 
Honestly don't see why the Open line is so universally disliked. I have enjoyed a number of the Masters and Regattas and they have been consistently good smokes in every regard.

Comeback from the park with kids, exhausted. Partagas Short from October 2013 was perfect.


 

Humidity is really high where I live so I decided to smoke NCs more for the next few days.

This is a Mi Barrio Churchill I bought in 2012. It was rolled by Don Pepin Garcia factory back then before it became an in-house brand of FFS and the production was moved to RP factory, which ruined the brand imo. I smoked a few 5vers and bought about quote a few boxes to age. From last year these cigars became fantastic.

Now I am smoking a Oliva Series V I bought in 2011. Not much change but the strength dropped little bit and the flavors are more distinguishable.

It was a straight cut but tight draw so ended up cutting off a bit more to open it up. Is there a problem with the way I did it?

I’ve only tried the Dumas too and thought the same as you. Will be interesting to hear what others think.
