Popular Post GVan Posted February 16, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2021 A few from the last couple of days. All were excellent cigars but, the JL#1 was the superstar of the bunch (and looks it as well)! SCdlH Principe (LGR Jun-18) Boli CJ (MSU AGO-18) Just past it's 90 days acclimating. JL #1 (UTL MAY-19) Probably the best smoking cigar in the humi right now. 30
Popular Post Bijan Posted February 16, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 16, 2021 I was going to join @havanaclub and @SigmundChurchill for a DC outside but then got hit with the start of 8 more inches of snow coming down so went for a Bolivar tubos no. 3 ROTT. Great cigar cayenne as always and with sweet BBQ this time. Hoyo du député. Cedar, spice, cream and citrus. 34

VKUTT? First out of a MSU SEP 19 box. But I had a quarter box of MSU ENE 20 before that too. Edit: I think the coldest we hit was 1F, still feeling tropical over here ? Edit 2: Meanwhile all the warm places are getting snow, I keep seeing Texas is all snowed in, and they got snow in Athens in Greece, I just got pictures of an orange tree with fruit covered in snow, from someone I know over there. 1
Popular Post Trapper99 Posted February 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2021 My first CC ever. A Monte 4 in a still starlit 13* Ohio night. The first half was wonderful, no bite or pepper at all, but then I was fighting burn issues and the cigar would go out super easy then got bitter after relight and having to smoke it faster. I am assuming this was from the cold. Can’t wait for spring!! 26

Burn issues will be mainly due to humidity of the cigar (generally too high), humidity where you are smoking (funny enough less of a problem in the cold), and construction of the cigar (something you can't do much about). What is your storage humidity? You want to be maybe 62%-68%, and people on this forum will say 62-65%. Non Cuban cigars are generally stored higher. 1 1

These just came off the truck about 5 days ago, and were shipped with a 69 boveda. When the were delivered, I switched them to a small cooler with a 65 boveda. I couldn’t wait any longer and had to try one! I do have a sensor push on order for setting up a larger coolider for a few months till I get cabinet set up in new home. 4

I find they're often ok right off the truck but they can be too humid. You'll need 30+ days to fix it through proper storage. But I can't blame you for smoking some sooner 1

As I stay in hotels since last October,I store all my cigars with 69% boveda in a sealed plastic bag.Recently I found all my cigars went off easily. I leave the cigars in ambient conditions (24 degree 52% humidity) for 20-30 minutes. It generally gets better. Some of my friends told me this is called decant a cigar, whatever.从我的 iPhone 发送,使用 Tapatalk 2

Popular Post Bigfatpuff Posted February 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2021 I am running out of stock soon. So RyJ EL 18 again today. I have done half of the box now, not every single one tastes exactly the same. This might be why Cohiba price went sky high here, very stable. A box of BHK 56 worth more than 2000 usd now. For this one, the first 1/3 was strong dark chocolate. The second 1/3 was sweet and chocolate. The last 1/3, cedar came in, no sweet. A bit peppery. Still a happy afternoon. Last Monte to enjoy. Wonderful! 从我的 iPhone 发送,使用 Tapatalk 35

I looked around and confirmed this in other sources and I believe Boveda states that it can be under by 5 points in RH.. so I figure 69 is going to give me an average of 65... but that's just me ... 2

Popular Post Kaptain Karl Posted February 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2021 Just a week off the truck and already firing on all cylinders! Another one to add to the rotation! I should have taken notes for a review but I was busy. I did however get that dried fruit note (El Prez says prunes, I definitely agree) in spades. Definitely a unique profile that's fantastic! 34

Yeah it depends on shipping time and if they vacuum seal. It won't hold 69% in the package. But their warehouses are at 69% too. RH will be 5 lower in a desktop, only a few lower in a cooler, pretty dead on in Tupperware. 2
Popular Post glaesthetic Posted February 17, 2021 Popular Post Posted February 17, 2021 Morning conference calls are usually for minutos, but decided to go for something bigger today. Started out a tasting a little dirty and like a cigarette, but quickly settled into thick, rich cream and spice. Demi tasse on the way to the store. First one and surprised how much flavor it has 35
