An RE Friday with @Nate Chu C&C for a Saturday morning with this Sir Winston from 03. Today is going to be great if this cigar is anything to judge it by. What a super smooth star

First cigar of the year.

C&C ‘14 especiales. Fantastic start to the day C&C with a Monte 4 C&C time today with a Perla picked up from 24:24

Looks dark!  How was it?

Excellent, probably the best constructed CC I have ever had. Tight draw but opened it up with the perfecdraw.
Not as dark as the picture however.

Por Larrañaga Petit Coronas LGR Oct 2019

It's often said on our forum that young Por Larranaga Petit Coronas (i.e. less than 5 years old) can have some bite to it, this 12 month old example had very little of the sort. Instead, it was a superlative example of how good recent 2019-20 Habanos cigars have been smoking so well and yet so young.

From the very first puff I got some beautiful caramel and this was soon joined by toffee and honey until the middle third when the cigar exhibited a quality toasted tobacco into its flavour profile. It goes without saying that I risked the safety of my fingers in nubbing this well into the final third.

When a Por Larranaga Petit Coronas can smoke this well at this age, it doesn't necessarily require long-term aging to enjoy to an exemplary standard.

Totally agree with this. I snagged half a cab of PLPC on 24:24 a couple months ago, my first from this marca. I smoked one a few weeks after arrival, with some trepidation based on the folklore you note. It was fantastic -- caramel, toffee, toast, and a floral element, not a rough edge on it, better than the (very good) corona especiale I just smoked -- and I've since put down 6 more.

@JohnS ahh you may inspire me to pick up a cab here soon and smoke that while my psp cab from 17 gets some more rest!
If you mind me asking...do you find HQ/PSP makes a big difference with PLPC’s?

For my preferences, it's not something I worried about when I picked up this PLPC as a quarter pack option from a 24:24 listing earlier this year. I think I've been through four of the twelve and overall they've been quite good thus far.

PLMC (LGR AG0-17) - I should have 10% of my humi stock in these - they are just as good as some $12 sticks.

If I may add my two cents .......I find that PLPC is good no matter what the wrapper looks like ....in fact, with most pl, the paler and uglier the wrapper, the better ....I think you will have a good experience with the cigar no matter the wrapper shade or quality grade

I concur. That has been my experience too in the past few years.
