Just missed the zoom. But weather is still nice.

BEL ENE 20 HdM Rio Seco. Some of the serie le hoyo DNA but I've only had the du depute and du maire from the originals. Wasn't smoking Hoyo until after the others got discontinued.

Pleasant gingerbread, mint and not just the wood of young du depute and du maire. Definitely some other flavours too but I'm too busy enjoying to do a full review ?

Light enough that I'm not clobbered by a 56 RG but still flavourful. 12mm punch so it's still comfortable.

Dic 19, first one of the box I thought I’d try tonight while on Zoom.  One of the better Epi 1s I’ve had in a long while.  First 3/4 inch was “meh” as you’d expect for so young, then it just started exploding with flavors.  Little hot/menthol at the very end but again its forgiven for its immaturity.  Very enjoyable, great potential in this box, a nice surprise.  Good smoke and good conversation tonight.  Cheers

Couldn't resist testing the Montecristo Especial #2 that arrived from our host yesterday on my doorstep. Such an elegant and enjoyable format! Taste-wise the monte flavors where quite subdued/muted. Still, no harshnes or bitterness, but so far also very little monte-esque flavors ?

Hopefully this will all change with a decent rest......?

PLPC LEP NOV 16. Haven’t touched this cab in about 2 or more years as a smoke several early and wanted to have more than half a cab with at least 4-5 yrs on them.

Bolivar RC have been Smoking great from 2019. Big flavors and consistent construction.

Took the laptop on the porch for some midday work. A cheap n cheerful party PC especial. A bit heavy on the tobacco notes but enjoyable. a 2019 box so perhaps will revisit in six months to see if that mellows a bit. A beautiful fall day.  A

Montecristo No.2 PMS Abr 2015

Today's darker-wrappered Montecristo No.2 is the best one from this 10-count box thus far and unfortunately there's only one left! The reason it was so good was because it was well-balanced, there was ample amounts of nut, coffee, cream and even citrus twang on the edges but it was the generous serving of quality cocoa which made this stand out for me.

Interestingly, I can't say in general that my recent lighter-wrappered Montecristo No.2s have been so generous in quality cocoa, however; they've shone on account of their nut and citrus twang.

When Montecristo No.2 is like this, it's no wonder they sell so well!

Punch 48 2016 - Especialista en Habanos Exclusivo LGR Oct 2018

I had a box of LGR Ene 2018 Punch 48 prior to this box and whilst that was quite good overall, this LGR Oct 2018 box has thus far been sensational!

Again, it was the consistent construction and well-balanced flavours which appealed to me. Cedar, nut, a generous helping of citrus twang and some cream texture made this easy to smoke from 'go-to-whoa'.

Whilst I'd categorise the Punch 48 as being closer in blend to the 2018 Punch 8-9-8 Asia Pacific Regional Edition than the regular production Punch Punch or Punch Short de Punch, they've been consistently above average for me over the past 24 months.

Romeo y Julieta Petit Royales RAT Ene 2020

This is my second Romeo y Julieta Petit Royales from this 15-pack Tubos box and it was just as impressive as my first. Again, smoke output was voluminous, flavours were faithful to the Romeo y Julieta marca DNA and it smoked just fine for 30 to 35 minutes, I didn't need it to be any longer.

The chocolate and cherry was complimented by a deep toasted tobacco but it wasn't as spicy this time. The increased volume of smoke per draw did necessitate me smoking slightly slower. Check this release out if you get a chance and you don't mind Romeo y Julieta as a brand.

TUE ABR 20 Punch Punch.

A little overfilled and a little fireproof on one side but otherwise pleasant.

Edit: TEO MAR 18 El Rey del Mundo Demi tasse.

And REG NOV 18 RyJ Sports Largos.

Both exceptional. Great draw, lots of smoke. Demi tasse nutmeg and cinnamon. Sport Largos rosewater. Hold their own against anything I've smoked this week even if 20 and 30 minutes respectively. If this is what winter has in store I'll be happy.
