Popular Post BoliDan Posted October 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2020 Monte E. No. 2. 2018, colorado maduro... 2 year is the perfect vintage for these, in my humble opinion. Start losing chocolate after a couple years for some reason. Speaking of chocolate. This is a candy bar with the slightest puff. 70% cocao. A bit of ginger and sweet cream. No Monte citrus or veggie flavor which is great by me. 9/10 smoke. Yes, that is kids bandaid on my finger, Mickey Mouse in fact. I was doing some work on a security storm door frame and chipped steel met my hand. The only first aid kit with band aids was my two year old's... 28

Popular Post Kongelunden Posted October 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2020 Montecristo Media Corona, box code TES NOV 15. Have smoked through 2/3 of a box, and essentially none of them has truly provide much of the monte 'twang' or taste that I have enjoyed in other formats like the #2 or #1. Although they've reached a decent age, they still taste bland and mostly bitter - probably an unfortunate dud box, or otherwise, the media corona simply isn't for me ? 22
Popular Post Baccy Posted October 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2020 I love a good NC smoke every so often as it "resets" my palate. CCs are obviously my preference like most of us here but there are some excellent NC smokes out there, especially nowadays with all the new brands and lines. There's nothing better than flip flopping back and forth. It brings out all the intricacies of the terroir. Its great! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk 22

I find these are best relatively fresh, age does them no good 1

Popular Post JohnS Posted October 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2020 Juan López Selección No.2 MEL Dic 2016 It's been a little while since I've had a Juan Lopez Seleccion No.2 so I must thank @Luca for graciously gifting me this specimen to smoke, especially since I have two-thirds of a box resting away of the same box code. My JL2's are progressing slowly and I've decided to give them some more time until I have the next one. How did this JL2 fare? At first I was supremely excited to pick up on some Cointreau orange, citrus and chocolate in the first third but the cigar soon settled into a stronger espresso coffee, toasted tobacco and spice offering towards the end of the first third and stayed that way until the end. In summary, this wasn't too different to the JL2s from my box. For me, I need some more time for those orange and chocolate flavours to come more to the fore and for those espresso coffee and toasted tobacco flavours to recede. How long? Perhaps I will sample another one in the next six to nine months to see how they are coming along. Partagás Serie D No.4 EAG Jul 2015 I'd like to thank @Luca once again for graciously gifting me this cigar, telling me these were smoking great right now, from a 10-count box, and it certainly proved true after I smoked it today. What I liked about this cigar at 5 years of age was the sourdough element to it. It also had some coffee, leather and spice in addition but it was that quality sourdough which really stood out and made this so easy to smoke and enjoy. My only regret was that it was over too soon! 27 1

Popular Post Bijan Posted October 8, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 8, 2020 Montecristo especial no. 2. Punch cut this a while ago but draw was super tight so put it aside. Rammed it from both ends with the perfecdraw today and it was somewhat ok of a draw. Thankfully it opened up a fifth of the way through and had decent smoke production. A lot less pepper than the last one I had which was ROTT. I also had an Edmundo this morning where the wrapper kept exploding. Managed to smoke it ok and it was mainly cream flavours but I was worried the whole time the cigar would fall apart. 25

Don't have to hunt it down like a couple years ago when it was all bought up as soon as it landed. 1
