Wow! I haven't seen a PG in a while. Not even sure if I have even a one left in the humidor.

Back when I lived in Northern Virginia and even when I traveled back I would visit Paul at his shop in McLean.

Had some good PG smokes back in the day.

I can always count on PG for a consistent, well rolled cigar. Mild but tasty.

 I got a PSP 6 pack to try from 24:24 and wrappers are as dark. How was the smoke? Does it need more time?

Montecristo No.1 ESL Dic 2017

If there was a poll conducted to seek out the most under-rated Montecristo cigar I wonder if the Montecristo No.1 would top it. I would think the top prize would go to the often neglected and unheralded coronas-sized Montecristo No.3, but I would hasten to add that the Lonsdale-sized Montecristo No.1 wouldn't be too far behind.

I smoked this soon after I enjoyed a superlative Montecristo Especiales No.2 and honestly I have to admit that this Montecristo No.1 wasn't too far behind in terms of quality and satisfaction. So what were the similarities and differences? Both cigars had that Montecristo renowned milk coffee and cocoa and a hint of citrus twang. This Montecristo No.1 however was more towards mild-medium in strength, it wasn't as cream-textured and it had more of a toasted tobacco and leather combined flavour to it which wasn't present in the Montecristo Especiales No.2.

It's a pity the Montecristo No.1 doesn't get more attention from cigar enthusiasts. After all, it's only 10 millimetres (or two-fifths of an inch) longer than a Cohiba Siglo III but a lot better value in terms of price in comparison.

The 2017 Vigia was smooth. No signs of young cigar like the previous ones I smoke early this year. Flavors are good. Looking forward to the next one, probably a few months time.

It's tough from a value perspective. A number 1 costs almost as much as a number 2 with almost 30% less weight. Number 3 costs more than the length increase over number 4 would suggest, at that point you might as well pay the bit more and get a number 2 or 1 (so you're probably right number 3 is the most overlooked for this reason). Of course there's also the issue that tons of number 4 are produced and the question of whether or not quality can be maintained...

The calculus may be different in Australia since you are taxed by weight, so the 1 is probably considerably cheaper than the 2, and so on.
