Popular Post RDB Posted September 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 18, 2020 Monte Esp.2 today from ASR ABR 19. Claro Colorado wrapper, and the more forest floor, leaf mulch end of the Monte flavours rather than rich cocoa. Annoying burn: tunnelling and requiring constant touch ups. Super white ash. Overall ok, not great. Maybe a few years will sort out the burn issues. Still love this vitola. 23
Popular Post Rhinoww Posted September 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 18, 2020 Where have these been all my life. Holy cow, second stick from a box I received two weeks ago and wow. I need more. Three years old and whammo. Flavors just keep evolving and improving. Thinking hard about really going deep here. Approaching the level of admiration I have for the MSU BBF’s. Thinking @rcarlson might be a step ahead of me already 25
Popular Post CampDelta369 Posted September 18, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 18, 2020 Another epic MSU BOLIVAR RC. A 12 pack PSP AGO 19 picked up several months ago. Hard to pick between this and the BBF as king ?. The PC has been excellent as well. What a Marca. 24

LLC Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Smoked not only my first Monsdale tonight, but my first Cuban custom - thanks to the generosity of jsummers157. From mid-2018 - a beautiful cigar which produced masses of smoke and burned spot-on - impeccable construction. Flavor-wise it was quite unlike any production cigar I've smoked (maybe just a hint of Sir Winston in the DNA), though it did sort of put me in mind of an older style of Cuban cigar. Initially I picked up a lot of chocolate and a very distinct tart citrus which I strongly associate with old-style Habanos twang. That was soon joined by a strong buttery note, and those were the dominant flavors over the course of the development - certainly it was one of the most buttery cigars I've smoked. Over the development there was a hint of caramel, a brief hit of intense dried fruit in the first third which struck like a lightning bolt and never returned. Salt (salted butter) soon joined the party, and a deep woodiness became prominent. In the final third a floral note and the wood became less oak and more cedar, along with a dry cocoa powder. I had the sense that it was burning faster than I expected, but it lasted about 80 minutes, which I guess is spot-on for a lonsdale. All in all a really interesting and complex smoke, very rich and very unique. I’m having a Monsdale as I type this. I have them and other customs from various rollers regularly and the Monsdsles (through the last few rollers) are the most consistent cigar (custom or not) I think there is. I don’t recall one not being properly rolled in years and many 100’s of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 4

Popular Post Kaptain Karl Posted September 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 19, 2020 This is just an amazing young smoke! From a feb ‘20 HQ box from our host. All rich flavors of honeyed biscuit and lemon. I’ve had a few NC’s this week, and this is a perfect example of why we all love CC’s. 22
Popular Post LLC Posted September 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 19, 2020 TOU OCT 18 NO. 50. Very nice cigar. ETP OCT 15 RASS. Grabbed one from one of my older cabs. Wow, all RASS should be like this. So much more together and complex than the younger ones I smoke. 24

This is my 5th out of a 6-pack and they are hitting their stride. Draw is perfect (a little resistance), flavors are not so much the dark fruits (cherries) that RyJ is known for but a lot of cocoa and baking chocolate. Wish I had some more 1
Popular Post Chucko8 Posted September 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 19, 2020 C&C with this Monte 2 from 03. I find the vanilla bean is more prevalent in these than that of the younger #2’s. Creamy cocoa and coffee spine with a slight tang also on the tongue. 29
Popular Post Kongelunden Posted September 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 19, 2020 This has turmed out to be my go-to cigar, and always 'performs'. This particular stick was somewhat paler and visually not so nice as the others in the box (box code ETP MAR 16), but decided to smoke it anyway ? Draw on the looser side, but despite all this, still such a great cigar with great bolivar flavors all way through. Need to stock up on these...... 25

Popular Post GVan Posted September 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted September 19, 2020 Saturday morning smoke with a Nespresso Arpeggio - SCdlH Principe (LGR NOV-17) - fantastic with slight molasses sweetness and just plain smooth. This one was 7.39 gms, almost a perfect weight and good construction. There's been some back and forth on the quality of the '17 Principe's - all I can add to the discussion is these have been in the humidor for greater than 90 days at 61% rH. I keep them at the very top of the humi and find they tend to taste better with a little less moisture. 21 1
